Liu Haofei, Founding Partner of Shengjing Jiacheng, stated, “To better support innovation and entrepreneurship in the life sciences sector and incubate future industries, both parties have decided to jointly establish the ‘Shengzan Innovation Industry Incubation and Cultivation Platform.’ We look forward to leveraging this platform to further accelerate the incubation and growth of innovative projects in the life sciences field, thereby injecting greater innovative momentum into the development of the life sciences industry.”

Huang Jin, Secretary of the Board of Directors of Vazyme, emphasized: “We must clearly define the R&D-driven ‘1+N’ development strategy for Vazyme’s future. The establishment of an industrial incubation and cultivation platform in collaboration with Shengjing not only facilitates the concrete implementation of Vazyme’s ‘1+N’ strategy but also better supports the innovation, entrepreneurship, and IP commercialization of China’s top-tier scientists.”
This deepened collaboration marks a tighter linkage between the two parties in the field of life science industry innovation, supporting their respective sci-tech innovation strategies while injecting new momentum into industrial development.
Leveraging 17 years of experience in empowerment and investment, Shengjing has developed the “CIC Industry Incubation Model.” This model is dedicated to maximizing the hidden assets of outstanding enterprises, such as their industrial capabilities, while minimizing their hidden liabilities, including strategic and mechanistic rigidity. It represents an ideal combination for joint innovation and entrepreneurship, embodying the concept of “large enterprises supporting small ones.” At the core of the CIC Industry Incubation Model is four-party co-creation, where outstanding industrial companies, entrepreneurial teams, scientists or technical experts, and professional empowerment institutions integrate with one another. This approach further enhances the success rate of innovation, constituting a high-quality, high-certainty, and high-level form of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Drawing on the experiences of leading global companies, Vazyme has developed a systematic methodology, aiming to drive its second growth curve through an industrial incubation model. Meanwhile, Cao Lin, Chairman of Vazyme, was a university lecturer for 11 years before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey. He later co-founded the company with fellow alumni from his academic circle. This background has given him profound insight into the significant gap between laboratory technologies and market commercialization, as well as extensive practical experience in bridging this divide.
Building on this foundation, the platform will leverage Nanjing Vazyme Biotech Co., Ltd.’s industrial resources and Shengjing Technology CO.,LTD’s expertise in sci-tech innovation services and capital strength to provide targeted, end-to-end support and empowerment for top-tier scientists’ aspirations of IP commercialization, thereby enabling intellectual property to benefit both industry and human health.
“Highly Acclaimed Innovation Industry Incubation and Cultivation Platform” will use the Life Sciences Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge as its entry point to continuously discover and empower Principal Investigators (PIs) and scientists. The platform plans to host five rounds of challenges annually. Currently, the South China Division (Guangzhou) and North China Division (Beijing) have successfully concluded, while the East China Division (Nanjing), Southwest China Division (Chengdu), and Central China Division (Wuhan) are set to launch in succession.
The Life Sciences Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge adopts a “competition-and-training” model. It not only provides a platform for showcasing and exchanging innovative projects in the life sciences sector, but also continuously shares practical innovation experience from Shengjing Technology and Vazyme through training camps and co-creation programs. Furthermore, it brings together leading domestic investment institutions and industry pioneers such as Pharmaron, fostering deep integration between industry and capital.

At the North China Regional Finals, the First Prize was awarded to: "Epigenetic Editing: New Possibilities for Precision Disease Treatment"; the Second Prize winners were: "Industrialization Project of Human-Derived Materials by Huaxia Bio," "Research on Hair Follicle Stem Cell Preparations for Hair Regeneration," and "Intelligent Spatial Multi-Omics Imaging Platform"; the Third Prize winners were: "Design and Application of mRNA Cancer Vaccines" and "Development and Application of Rapid Nucleic Acid Diagnostic Reagents."
In last year’s South China regional competition, numerous outstanding startup projects also emerged, including: applications of spatial multi-omics technology; biomimetic autologous nano immune checkpoint drugs; anti-fatigue small-diameter blood vessels; an innovative drug development platform for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases based on vascular stem cells; electronic mini-flash radiotherapy systems; screening and identification of broad-spectrum, highly efficient neutralizing antibodies against superbugs and the development of therapeutic drugs; and a “split-then-combine” targeted protein degradation technology platform. Shengjing Technology and Nanjing Vazyme Biotech refined these projects through one-on-one mentoring via training camps and co-creation programs, accelerating their growth and fostering a community of shared destiny.
In the future, the “Shengzan Innovative Industry Incubation and Cultivation Platform” will remain steadfast in hosting the Life Sciences Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge, continuously tapping into the innovative potential of the life sciences sector, identifying pragmatic dreamers who strive to make life better in the future, and providing services such as R&D support, platform resources, venture capital investment, comprehensive empowerment, long-term mentorship, and industrial ecosystem integration.
