On May 8, 2024, the 8th Future Medical Ecosystem Expo grandly opened in Yizhuang, Beijing. The “Peking University Medicine & Peking University Guanghua Healthcare Industry Leadership Salon,” jointly organized by the School of Continuing Education of Peking University Health Science Center and VCBeat, attracted numerous experts, scholars, and industry elites from across China. Participants gathered to focus on cutting-edge developments in the healthcare industry and collectively discuss innovative trends, opportunities, and challenges shaping the future medical ecosystem.

Zhang Juan, Executive Dean of the School of Continuing Medical Education at Peking University Health Science Center, attended the salon and delivered opening remarks. Dean Zhang noted that the healthcare industry is a strategic emerging sector vital to public welfare and national security. The “Healthcare Industry Leadership Program,” a collaboration between Peking University Health Science Center and Guanghua School of Management, aims to integrate top-tier academic resources and management expertise to cultivate industry leaders and promote high-quality development in the healthcare sector. Through this training initiative, the program seeks to establish an efficient and sustainable healthcare ecosystem, empowering innovative development in China’s health and wellness endeavors.

This salon was moderated by Cao Qian from Huiying Medical, a participant in the second cohort of the “Healthcare Industry Leadership Program.” Five outstanding representatives from the program served as guest speakers, sharing their extensive industry experience accumulated over years of deep engagement in their respective sectors, along with their unique perspectives and profound insights into the development of the healthcare industry.Wang Dongyuan, Executive President of Chuanglian Wangjie and a program representative, delivered a presentation titled “Digital-Intelligent Health and Elderly Care Models in ‘Community + Home’ Settings.” She analyzed how smart healthcare can provide more efficient and intelligent health management models for the elderly and patients with chronic conditions in community and home-based scenarios, offering a glimpse into a future where technology empowers an aging society to become more humane and intelligent.Zhang Lei, Founder and Chairman of Lingfu Biology and a program representative, presented on the theme “Specialized Animal Models: Assisting R&D in Biopharmaceuticals and High-End Medical Devices.” She highlighted how the application of animal models makes biopharmaceutical and high-end medical device R&D more scientific and precise, helping to shorten development cycles and improve success rates.Cell intelligent manufacturing is an important branch of the broader health industry. Cao Yulin, Founder and President of Tangyi Holdings (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and a program representative, spoke on “Cell Intelligent Manufacturing and the Health Industry.” She showcased the new challenges and opportunities presented by cell intelligent manufacturing in terms of healthcare service delivery, medical product development, and future healthcare standards.Pan Jiakui, CEO of Decode DNA and a program representative, addressed the topic “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow of China’s Genetic Testing Industry.” He traced the developmental history of China’s genetic testing sector and outlined its critical role in disease diagnosis and personalized therapy in the future.Yuan Dawei, Founder of Quark Medicine and a program representative, shared insights on “Overview of the Radiopharmaceutical Market and R&D,” revealing the latest R&D trends in the radiopharmaceutical field and analyzing market opportunities and prospects.

This salon not only provided a platform for exchanging the latest scientific research achievements and market trends but also showcased multiple innovative technologies and solutions in the broader health industry to attendees. The “Peking University Health Science Center & Guanghua School of Management Healthcare Industry Leadership Program” has successfully completed three cohorts, bringing together nearly 200 outstanding entrepreneurs and executives from the healthcare industry. The fourth cohort will officially launch in October 2024.
