On May 25, the launch event for the JD Health Mental Health Service Center was successfully held in Beijing. At the event, JD Health unveiled “ChatHeal Universe,” an AI psychological companion product powered by a large language model specialized in mental health. Previously, the JD Health Mental Health Service Center had introduced multimodal AI-assisted diagnostic tools and digital management solutions based on large models, establishing itself as China’s first online mental health service platform driven by large language models. During the event, the JD Health Mental Health Service Center also announced the establishment of a Service Quality Management Committee and released standardized online diagnostic and treatment pathways for mental health, aiming to promote the standardized development of the mental health services industry.


Since its establishment in 2020, JD Health’s Psychological Service Center has leveraged its strengths in ecosystem, services, and technology to provide users with convenient and accessible one-stop mental health services. It is actively creating an “innovative model” for digital and intelligent mental health services in China, thereby promoting high-quality development within the industry.


Enhancing Mental Health Services: Leveraging Standardization to Drive High-Quality Industry Development


In recent years, mental health has become a social issue that can no longer be ignored. In response to this societal challenge, JD Health took the lead in innovating internet-based medical service models within the specialized field of psychiatry and psychology, establishing the JD Health Psychiatry and Psychology Center in 2020. As online psychological counseling has become a mainstream service format, JD Health has continuously expanded its service scope and capabilities based on profound insights into application scenarios and user needs. At the press conference, Professor Chen Zhiyan from the National Mental Health Assessment and Development Center of the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, stated that in recent years, there has been a rapid growth in public demand for mental health education on self-regulation, interpersonal communication, and career guidance, highlighting an urgent need to improve mental health literacy. However, alongside this surge in demand, China currently faces a limited supply of qualified practicing psychological counselors and therapists, and the general public still encounters significant cognitive barriers regarding psychological counseling.


Addressing the aforementioned pain points, JD Health’s Psychological Service Center has innovatively developed a “physician + medication + psychological counseling” tripartite multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment model. This framework enables efficient coordination and referral across psychiatric diagnosis and treatment, psychological counseling services, or combined consultations. For instance, users seeking support for emotional or stress-related mental health concerns can begin with a psychological assessment through the JD Health Psychological Service Center, which then matches them with counselors specializing in relevant fields for targeted psychological counseling. Meanwhile, patients with psychiatric conditions such as depression and bipolar disorder can receive personalized, comprehensive care through this tripartite multidisciplinary approach. This integrated solution leverages both pharmacological and psychological interventions (“mind–brain integration”), achieving a synergistic effect where 1+1>2.


Meanwhile, mental health services rely on the support of professional teams. Currently, the JD Health Mental Health Service Center has onboarded over 6,000 psychiatrists from renowned hospitals and more than 1,000 licensed psychological counselors, providing round-the-clock services to users.

At this press conference, the JD Health Mental Health Service Center also established a Service Quality Management Committee and released standardized clinical pathways. This marks another significant step by JD Health in advancing the standardization and professionalization of mental health services. Through these initiatives, the JD Health Mental Health Service Center aims to lead the industry toward greater maturity, efficiency, and trustworthiness.

 

Driven by Large Language Model Technology to Enhance Quality and Efficiency in the Mental Health Industry


In recent years, the rapid development of AI technology has injected unprecedented momentum into the mental health industry. As noted by Tian Chenghua, Chief Physician at the Peking University Institute of Mental Health and a member of the Clinical Psychologist Registration System of the Chinese Psychological Society, during the conference, large language models can replace more than half of manual operations in psychological testing, significantly improving accessibility and efficiency. Additionally, AI can assist psychiatrists in formulating treatment plans, thereby markedly enhancing the quality of care.

At this press conference, JD Health’s Psychological Service Center officially launched “Liaoyu Xiaoyuzhou” (Chat Healing Universe), an AI psychological companion product built on a large language model specialized in psychology. Evolved from the “Jingyi Qianxun” large model, this product differs from general-purpose large models by exhibiting a rich, multi-dimensional “personality” during human interactions, with enhanced capabilities in human-like logical reasoning, linguistic expression, and empathy.


In addition to its AI-powered psychological companionship products for the general public, JD Health’s Mental Health Service Center has launched multimodal auxiliary diagnostic tools tailored for psychiatrists and psychological counselors, aiming to enhance the quality and efficiency of psychological counseling and online consultations. Meanwhile, JD Health’s independently developed digital therapeutic product, the “Sleep Monitoring Data Processing Software,” has obtained a National Class II Medical Device License. This software facilitates comprehensive monitoring of sleep physiological indicators throughout the entire cycle, providing precise reference data to support physicians’ clinical decision-making and psychological counselors’ client communications.


Currently, JD Health’s Psychological Service Center is leveraging large language model (LLM) technology to enable precise matching and efficient delivery of mental health services, thereby driving quality improvement and efficiency gains across the industry.
