“Joint Construction and Sharing, Health for All” is the strategic theme for building a Healthy China. To effectively improve corporate environments, enhance corporate health management and service levels, and safeguard workers’ health, the National Health Commission and other departments jointly issued the Notice on Promoting the Development of Health-Oriented Enterprises in 2019. This initiative launched extensive publicity and mobilization efforts to encourage society at large to care about, pay attention to, and support the development of health-oriented enterprises. Currently, an increasing number of companies are prioritizing employees’ physical and mental well-being, actively cultivating corporate health cultures, addressing employees’ health needs, and achieving coordinated development between corporate growth and human health.

Recently, Liu Lu, Manager of the Administrative Department at China Resources Beer (Holdings) Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as “China Resources Beer”), stated in an interview that employee health is a company’s greatest asset. Safeguarding the physical and mental well-being of employees is a significant corporate social responsibility. Only by enhancing employees’ sense of happiness and belonging can enterprises achieve sustained and stable development, thereby creating greater value for society.

According to reports, China Resources Beer is deeply committed to the health and well-being of its employees and takes a long-term view toward sustainable corporate development. By addressing employees’ multidimensional needs, the company has continuously enhanced innovation in safeguarding employee health across multiple domains, including policy framework development, workplace environment optimization, corporate culture cultivation, and employee care initiatives. In particular, it has demonstrated sincere dedication and compassion in delivering high-quality occupational health examination services.

Liu Lu stated that enterprises should prioritize employee needs, adopt a human-centric approach, and adapt to changes in contemporary work patterns by providing convenient medical examination services and personalized health management recommendations while ensuring the security of employee information. However, in the implementation of corporate health management, companies such as China Resources Beer face several pain points. From the corporate perspective, challenges include inconsistent medical examination standards, complex procurement processes conducted independently by subsidiary companies, limited bargaining power, and non-interoperable health checkup packages across national medical examination institutions. Additionally, employees’ awareness of corporate health management is inadequate, leading to low participation rates and difficulties in effectively implementing certain measures; limited health management resources also fail to cover employees’ personalized needs. From the employee perspective, the workforce faces significant job-related stress, commonly experiencing physical and mental exhaustion as well as suboptimal health conditions. They generally pay little attention to health management knowledge, lack the habit of regular medical examinations, and have insufficient understanding of the selection of examination items and the significance of various indicators in examination results. Furthermore, tight medical resources make it difficult for employees to schedule appointments and obtain consultations.

To this end, since 2023, China Resources Beer has partnered with Ping An Health Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Ping An Health”) to provide multi-dimensional health management service support. Aligning with employee needs, both parties have achieved remarkable results in upgrading health check-up packages, expanding the selection of designated check-up institutions, enriching health-themed activities, and enhancing satisfaction with health check-ups.

Expanding the Network of Partner Institutions for Greater Employee Convenience. In 2023, Ping An Health added more than 100 new health checkup providers for China Resources Beer, enabling employees to choose from a total of 750 partner facilities across 224 cities nationwide, thereby facilitating more convenient access to nearby health screenings.

Equipped with online physicians for intelligent consultation services. Employees can complete the entire process online, including scheduling, modifying, or canceling health check-up appointments, viewing and interpreting health check-up reports, and conducting online consultations, thereby enhancing operational intelligence. Additionally, all employees are assigned online personal health physicians who provide exclusive 24/7 one-on-one services to address various health concerns. To date, 12,087 employees have enrolled in the personal health physician program, representing a 61% participation rate, with over 2,500 consultations conducted. Furthermore, employees may authorize physicians to interpret their electronic health check-up reports and receive personalized health management recommendations; this service has been utilized by 2,473 individuals.

Shoulder and Neck Massage Health-Themed Event

Furthermore, leveraging the unique characteristics of the enterprise, China Resources Beer and Ping An Health jointly organized more than 30 workplace health initiatives, including shoulder and neck massage sessions, health science popularization lectures, and women’s care activities. These initiatives were widely acclaimed by employees and significantly boosted their enthusiasm for participating in health management.

Liu Lu specifically noted that some of China Resources Beer’s production facilities are located in high-altitude regions, where low oxygen levels in the air increase employees’ risks of cardiopulmonary health issues and serious diseases, compounded by inadequate local medical resources. Ping An Health efficiently supported the implementation of China Resources Beer’s “I Do Practical Things for the Masses – High-Altitude Regions” employee health examination program. In addition to assisting employees with routine health checks, Ping An Health actively coordinated with medical institutions in Chamdo, Lhasa, Qinghai, and Dali to ensure the program’s successful rollout, and provided free upgrades to lung CT scans and cardiac color Doppler ultrasounds for selected employees. Furthermore, a dedicated “green channel” appointment service for critical illnesses was established exclusively for employees in high-altitude areas, offering assistance with outpatient appointments with specialists at Grade 3A hospitals, accompanied medical visits, and hospitalization bookings. In 2023, this initiative benefited over 250 China Resources Beer employees working in high-altitude regions.

In addition to employee health examinations, China Resources Beer’s headquarters has established a “Seven Hearts” employee care system. This system integrates employees’ needs across various dimensions and implements care initiatives through environmental improvements, activities, and humanistic support. For instance, 16 interest groups have been set up, enabling employees to independently organize various health-related activities on a weekly or monthly basis, with cumulative participation reaching 1,020 person-times. Furthermore, employees are encouraged to actively participate in events such as the track and field trials and table tennis competitions for national government agencies, as well as basketball tournaments during the Staff Cultural Festival, thereby enhancing corporate pride while promoting sports engagement. To create a healthy office environment, China Resources Beer focuses on building convenient, comfortable, intelligent, and user-friendly office and leisure areas. Measures include establishing nursing rooms, equipping facilities with automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and first-aid kits, and beautifying employee lounges and shared gyms to ensure a satisfying workplace environment.

As a practitioner of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, China Resources Beer actively integrates into the new trend of innovative development, improves relevant institutional safeguards, effectively enhances working conditions, and fosters a healthy corporate culture.

As the Healthy China Strategy is advanced in greater depth, corporate health management will become an inevitable choice for a growing number of enterprises. Committed to transforming itself into a diversified alcoholic beverage company, China Resources Beer is steadily advancing toward its goal of “becoming a leader in the new world of beer and an explorer in the new world of baijiu.” It also hopes that by sharing its experience, it can inspire more companies to provide their employees with more comprehensive and professional health management services, jointly building a healthy, harmonious, and fulfilling corporate environment, thereby contributing to the Healthy China Strategy. Liu Lu stated that China Resources Beer will continue to deepen its cooperation with Ping An Health in the future, jointly exploring innovative pathways for corporate health management. Ping An Health will also uphold its value proposition of “worry-free, time-saving, and cost-effective,” providing integrated health management solutions to more outstanding enterprises and making its due contribution to supporting the Healthy China Strategy.
