The 9th “Maker China” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for SMEs in Medical Equipment Has Been Launched; Projects Meeting the Competition Requirements Are Now Being Solicited for Registration!
The competition aims to leverage industrial advantages and aggregate industry resources to identify and support a cohort of innovative enterprises and entrepreneurial projects possessing key core technologies, thereby accelerating resource integration and stimulating industrial vitality. Meanwhile, closely aligning with the overarching goal of cultivating “Little Giant” firms that are specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative, the competition will be tightly integrated with key initiatives such as industrial innovation, intellectual property protection, talent development, brand enhancement, and promotion and application. These efforts are designed to significantly boost industrial innovation capabilities and drive the transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
It is reported that the competition will be conducted in two categories: the Enterprise Group and the Maker Group. The event consists of four stages: project solicitation, preliminary round, semi-final, and final. Depending on actual circumstances, activities at each stage will be held either online or offline. The final round is scheduled for early September and will take the form of project roadshows. The project solicitation for the competition focuses primarily on the seven key areas outlined in the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Medical Equipment Industry, includingDiagnostic Equipment, Therapeutic Equipment, Monitoring and Life Support Equipment, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Diagnostic and Treatment Equipment, Maternal and Child Health Equipment, Healthcare and Rehabilitation Equipment, Active Implantable Medical Devicesetc., as well as intelligent new technologies, new materials, key processes, and other innovative projects for medical equipment developed to enhance product reliability and promote high-end advancement, even if they fall outside the scope of the seven major fields.
It is understood that this competition was hosted by the Cybersecurity Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) (also known as the MIIT Information Center) and the People’s Government of Changping District, Beijing. It was co-organized by the China Association of Medical Equipment, the “Yi Zhi Qiao” Intellectual Property Service Platform for Medical Equipment, the High-End Medical Equipment Industry Acceleration Center, and the National Innovation Center for High-Performance Medical Devices.
