Zhonghui Medical to Launch China's First Phased-Array Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapy System – SUA-I

Currently, cancer treatment has entered an era of comprehensive and minimally invasive therapies. However, their limited adoption in primary care hospitals has hindered the overall improvement of treatment standards. PHIFU offers advantages such as short treatment time, high therapeutic precision, accurate energy control, conformal therapy, and multimodal capabilities.

SUA-I is a phased-array high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) tumor treatment system independently developed by Sinoways Medical. It received the Class III medical device registration certificate from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in 2024. This device employs advanced phased focusing ultrasound technology to enable conformal therapy guided by tumor characteristics. By seamlessly integrating the ultrasound probe with phased HIFU and utilizing a 144-channel power amplifier array, it enhances phase control precision. The treatment head features next-generation electronic phased focusing, offering greater flexibility in focusing methods, electronic phase correction, and sub-millimeter precision control, thereby allowing precise focusing within complex tissues and organs.
