【Panel 1】Extraordinary Times,

How Can Party A and Party B Engage in Positive Interaction and Join Forces for Mutual Support?

Panel 1 Session byDr. Liu XiaoHost, Guest SpeakersXu Kai, Founder of Nuoen Biotech; Li Zhaozhong, Co-founder and CTO of NurunJie; Li Junhui, Vice President of Production at Xingcheng Biotechnology; Tan Guosheng, Key Account Director at Yeasen Biotechnology; Xiong Yi, Application Director for Cell Culture Products at Lepu Biotech; Chen Lin, Business Development Director at Shenyan BiotechShared diverse perspectives and in-depth insights on the topic “How Can Party A and Party B Interact Constructively and Join Forces to Weather the Storm During Extraordinary Times?”

Guest Insights:The relationship between Party A and Party B is one of cooperative mutual trust, respect, and support, rather than an adversarial or zero-sum dynamic. As Party A, you should extend sufficient patience and tolerance to Party B. When issues arise, take the initiative to step in and resolve them, working collaboratively with Party B to refine solutions. Furthermore, when risks are manageable, Party A should have the courage to be a pioneer by adopting differentiated innovative services provided by Party B, thereby potentially achieving rapid advancement and surpassing competitors.

As the service provider, one must first possess robust technical capabilities, including stable and mature process technologies, a compliant quality management system, and full regulatory compliance, thereby striving to help the client avoid potential pitfalls. “Demanding clients are good clients.” Given the client’s exceptionally high expectations for technical services, the service provider must demonstrate even greater professionalism than the client. This also requires the service provider to intensify efforts in technological innovation, continuously explore innovative solutions, and enhance both service efficiency and quality.

Drug development in the field of cell and gene therapy (CGT) is a protracted process that requires joint efforts from both the sponsor and the contract organization. By leveraging complementary resources, they can collectively address the risks and challenges inherent in drug development, ultimately advancing the commercialization of candidate drugs.

【Panel 2 】Under the New Situation,

How Can CGT Companies Effectively Pursue “Financing and Business Development”?

Panel 2 Session inWu Chao, General Manager of VCBeat New Medicineunder the auspices of,Zeng Xun from the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine; Tang Jianbin, Professor at Zhejiang University and Founder of Messenger Biotech; Wang Jin, President of Manhattan Investment (Hangzhou); Wang Yanan, Managing Director of K2VC; and Chen Ke, General Manager of the Technology Finance Department, Pudong Development Bank Hangzhou BranchIn-depth discussion on the topic: “How Can CGT Companies Effectively Pursue ‘Financing and Business Development’ in the New Landscape?”

Guest Insights:Amid a cooling market and shifting investment landscape, the entire industry must innovate and rebuild confidence. As the source of innovation in the cell and gene therapy (CGT) sector, researchers should conduct their studies based on market and clinical needs. When translating innovative research into commercial products, scientists must step out of their comfort zones, reshape their business mindset, and clarify the underlying logic of commercial translation, thereby successfully closing the loop from scientific research to commercialization.

Beyond this, while financing is a crucial source of funding for startups, it is not the only one. During downturns in the capital market, scientist-founders and startups can secure funds through multiple channels, with banks being one of them. Startups should strive to establish partnerships with banks, selecting the most suitable solutions based on their development needs and financial planning to help them “survive” in challenging environments.

Meanwhile, investment firms, banks, and other financial institutions are actively seeking change by launching a variety of services and solutions to help companies expand overseas and navigate challenging economic cycles, ultimately driving the industry forward.
