Since its inception three seasons ago, the “Rising Stars of Pharma” initiative has adhered to its mission of stimulating innovation and unlocking development potential in the biopharmaceutical sector. It focuses on incubating a cohort of innovative biopharmaceutical startups and nurturing a group of promising hidden champions. This initiative represents an innovative measure by Shanghai’s biopharmaceutical industry to maintain its vitality amidst the rapidly growing demand for life and health solutions and the accelerated evolution of biotechnology. Since the launch of the competition, three seasons have been successfully held, with a total of over500+The initiative unveiled 52 high-quality biomedical projects from both domestic and international sources, coveringInnovative Drugs, Synthetic Biology, AI-Driven Drug Discoverymultiple sectors, successfully activating the city's biopharmaceutical innovation ecosystem.

The fourth season of the “Rising Stars of Biomedicine” selection campaign will continue to leverage its brand advantages and industrial influence.
This event focuses primarily on the field of innovative drugs, having identified over 100 cutting-edge projects. Through preliminary screening, semi-finals, and finals, the “Rising Stars of Biopharma” will be selected. The finals will feature a panel of judges comprising top clinical experts, renowned scholars, and investors from leading private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) firms, providing high-quality innovative startups with opportunities for in-depth exchange and collaboration.

▶ We are seeking promising biopharmaceutical “rising stars” across China with the potential to achieve technological breakthroughs, lead industry development, and capture significant market opportunities. This season features an Innovative Drugs track, focusing on novel targets, new sites of action, new mechanisms, and new molecular entities. It encompasses high-end biologics—including antibody drugs, novel vaccines, gene therapies, and cell therapies—as well as targeted chemical drugs and novel formulations.
