New Book 'Introduction to the Management of Scientific and Technological Achievement Transformation in Chinese Research Hospitals' Launched in Haikou

On October 13, the newly published book Introduction to the Management of Technological Achievement Transformation in Chinese Research Hospitals, published by People’s Medical Publishing House, was officially released at the Personalized Medicine Symposium and the 4th Health Innovation and Transformation Management Forum held in Haikou.

This new book was jointly compiled under the leadership of the National Engineering Research Center for Individualized Diagnosis and Treatment Technology and Furong Laboratory, in collaboration with renowned medical schools, healthcare institutions, and leading third-party service providers across China.

Drawing on the editor-in-chief’s 15 years of experience in translating scientific research achievements into practical applications, this book showcases the technology transfer models employed by 25 leading hospitals, medical schools, and administrative institutions across China. It analyzes the operational models for medical technology transfer at 16 top-tier hospitals and research institutions globally—including those in the United States, Europe, Japan, Israel, and Singapore—as well as the respective investment promotion policies of China’s medical industrial parks. Addressing global medical investment trends and the specific challenges and pain points faced by Chinese research-oriented hospitals in managing technology transfer, the book proposes a new, practical mechanism and model for technology transfer management tailored to these institutions. At the launch event, Chen Xiang, Executive Vice President of Central South University and chief reviewer of the book, delivered a speech on behalf of the editorial committee. President Chen began by introducing Xiangya School of Medicine at Central South University, expressed sincere gratitude to all editorial board members, and expressed the hope that the new book would serve as a starting point for further advancing the translation of achievements from the National Engineering Research Center for Individualized Diagnosis and Treatment Technologies and the Furong Laboratory. Subsequently, Fang Li, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Center of Central South University and Director of the Xiangya Medical Department, who served as the first editor-in-chief of the book, reported on the original intention behind compiling the new book and outlined future work prospects. These include continuously promoting the “Healthcare Innovation and Translation Management Forum” to establish it as a premier gathering for professionals in medical achievement translation management; building an authoritative training system for medical industrialization to maximize expert value; constructing a database for patent value assessment of AI-related achievements to empower project evaluation and patent layout; and jointly developing a collaborative innovation digital service platform to achieve multi-party co-operation and mutual benefit. Ultimately, these efforts aim to facilitate the establishment of the “Top 50 Chinese Medical Technology Managers” Alliance and promote high-quality advancement in achievement translation among alliance members.
