Jiang Hui, Party Secretary of Peking University First Hospital; Li Jianping, Vice President of Peking University First Hospital; Tang Ke, Deputy General Manager of China Telecom Group; Pan Tianshu, General Manager of the Government and Enterprise Information Services Business Group; and Liu Yuming, President of the Healthcare Industry Division, attended the meeting. Zhang Cuijian, Executive Dean of the Daxing Campus; Zhou Guopeng, Director of the Information Center of Peking University First Hospital; Pang Jin, Vice President of the Healthcare Industry Division of China Telecom Group; along with heads of relevant departments and management and technical personnel, jointly participated in the conference.

The ceremony was hosted by Zhou Guopeng, Director of the Information Center at Peking University First Hospital. Director Zhou first introduced the historical background and informatization development of Peking University First Hospital. Pang Jin, Vice President of the Healthcare Industry Division at China Telecom Group, provided a detailed report on the progress of the joint intelligent computing laboratory established by both parties.

Peking University First Hospital and China Telecom Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement in March 2022, establishing a comprehensive long-term partnership. In response to the call for developing new quality productive forces, both parties established the “Intelligent Computing Joint Laboratory” to jointly promote the implementation and application of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data in the healthcare sector. Building on their collaborative achievements and practical applications, they have won awards in national competitions including the National Digital Health Innovation Application Competition, the Big Data Competition at the China International Digital Expo, the “Blooming Cup” 5G Application Collection Competition, and the “Huacai Cup” Computing Power Innovation Application Competition, thereby fully demonstrating their leading and exemplary role in the industry.

Subsequently, leaders from both sides jointly presided over the launch ceremony of the “Peking University First Hospital · China Telecom Health Large Model.” As a key research achievement of the Joint Intelligent Computing Laboratory, this collaboratively developed health large model is built upon China Telecom’s self-developed Xingchen (Star) Large Model with hundreds of billions of parameters. It has been extensively trained using Peking University First Hospital’s vast data resources and clinical diagnostic and treatment expertise, aiming to provide patients with personalized and precise medical services, thereby significantly enhancing and improving their healthcare experience.

Currently, this large health model has successfully incubated the new-generation intelligent triage platform for Peking University First Hospital. Leveraging the powerful comprehension capabilities of generative AI large models, the platform deeply integrates Peking University First Hospital’s vast medical data resources with its authoritative repository of medical knowledge, achieving significant breakthroughs in intelligent understanding and generative interaction. The platform provides comprehensive health consultation services covering both “in-hospital and out-of-hospital” settings as well as “pre-consultation and post-consultation” phases. In addition to integrating convenient features such as appointment registration, online payment, report inquiry, in-hospital navigation, and complaint/suggestion submission, the platform—supported by the robust capabilities of the large health model—has introduced intelligent application scenarios including smart triage, report interpretation, health consultations, and intelligent customer service. These innovative features have not only comprehensively improved the efficiency of clinical diagnosis and treatment operations but also greatly accelerated patients’ medical care processes and simplified visit procedures. Notably, by capturing and analyzing patient symptom reports in real time, the platform delivers personalized health recommendations and precise triage guidance. This innovative approach has significantly enhanced the quality of medical services and achieved breakthrough progress in optimizing the patient healthcare experience. The successful launch of Peking University First Hospital’s new-generation intelligent triage platform not only demonstrates the leading position of the large health model in the medical field but also sets a benchmark for promoting the intelligent transformation of the healthcare industry. In the future, the platform will continue to leverage its innovative advantages to help hospitals improve diagnostic and treatment standards, providing patients with more efficient and convenient medical and health services.
