The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is set to open soon. As a participating country for seven consecutive years, Denmark will present its innovative strength and outstanding contributions in the field of life sciences with a more prominent presence this year. Carefully organized by the Confederation of Danish Industry, Denmark will participate with two national pavilions, among which the newly established Life Sciences Pavilion will become a highlight of the exhibition, underscoring Denmark’s firm commitment to innovation and well-being.
As important trade partners, China and Denmark have maintained a close cooperative relationship for many years. Mogens Kofod, Danish Ambassador to China, stated, “Our strong presence at the China International Import Expo serves as a testament to this trade relationship. By showcasing our green solutions in the Chinese market and developing sustainable businesses, we are able to further consolidate our cooperation with China in the field of green transition, building upon the ‘China-Denmark Joint Work Plan on Green Development’ launched last year.” The establishment of the Life Sciences Pavilion is a concrete manifestation of Denmark’s commitment to advancing global health goals and supporting China’s national strategy of “Healthy China 2030.”
Spanning 140 square meters, the Denmark Life Science Pavilion will showcase seven renowned Danish enterprises covering pharmaceuticals, health products, bio-solutions, as well as medical devices and equipment. Prioritizing innovation and sustainability, these companies aim to benefit Chinese patients and the healthcare system through their cutting-edge technologies and products.
The seven Danish life sciences companies participating in this CIIE are: Lundbeck, Ambu, LEO Pharma, Novozymes, Oticon, LEO Pharma, and Novo Nordisk.
Lundbeck, a global pharmaceutical company focused on neuroscience, will showcase its breakthrough innovations in the fields of rare neurological diseases and specialized neurological treatments. Since entering the Chinese market in the 1990s, Lundbeck has been committed to promoting brain health and transforming the lives of millions of people in China. At this exhibition, Lundbeck will make its debut at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) with eptinezumab, an innovative medication for migraine treatment. This drug is the first and currently only intravenously administered targeted CGRP monoclonal antibody approved by the FDA for the preventive treatment of migraines in adults, requiring injection once every three months. The drug is currently available in Boao Lecheng, Hainan, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
ALK is a Denmark-based pharmaceutical company with a century-long focus on allergic diseases, driven by innovation. Making its debut at this year’s China International Import Expo (CIIE), ALK will showcase its comprehensive, long-term solutions for allergic diseases, including ACARIZAX, which has not yet been formally approved for the Chinese market.®*House dust mite allergen sublingual tablets. This product is expected to be launched in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by the end of 2024, bringing new hope for treatment to patients with allergic diseases in China.
LaboGene specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of laboratory and industrial equipment, with product areas encompassing clean air and laminar flow, centrifugation, vacuum, and cooling technologies, while providing both standard and customized solutions. Its product portfolio includes multiple brands and series such as ScanLaf (biological safety cabinets and laminar flow cabinets), ScanVac (freeze dryers and vacuum concentrators), ScanCool (refrigeration equipment), and ScanSpeed (centrifuges), along with offerings in imaging products and air sterilizers. These products are widely used in laboratory and industrial applications involving biosafety, sample storage, freeze-drying, cooling, and centrifugation.
Novonesis is dedicated to functional health. Its MicrobiomeLabs Yibaolai™ brand has earned widespread acclaim in the U.S. market for its product portfolio, which is backed by rigorous scientific research and validated through clinical practice. At this exhibition, Novonesis will showcase its adjunctive probiotic solutions, bringing a novel health experience to Chinese consumers.
Oticon is committed to helping people with hearing loss live the lives they want through innovative technology. At this China International Import Expo (CIIE), Oticon will launch its Real series of hearing aids, powered by the new Polaris R platform and featuring added Impulse Noise Stabilizer and Wind & Motion Noise Stabilizer, to provide users with a clearer, more comfortable, and effortless listening experience. Meanwhile, Oticon will also showcase its hearing solutions and service network in the Chinese market, further promoting the development of hearing healthcare in China.
LEO Pharma is dedicated to advancing the research and development of dermatological science. At this exhibition, LEO Pharma will showcase its comprehensive range of therapeutic solutions, as well as Enstilar, its first foam-formulation medication for psoriasis.®, the "first-in-class" topical pan-JAK inhibitor delgocitinib cream brings new therapeutic hope to patients with skin diseases in China.
Novo Nordisk is a global leader in biopharmaceuticals, built on a century of heritage in diabetes care. During the exhibition, Danish life sciences companies will also engage in in-depth exchanges with their Chinese counterparts to jointly explore cooperation opportunities and promote deeper collaboration between the two countries in the field of medical technology. The participation of Danish life sciences enterprises in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) not only deepens the friendly cooperative relationship between China and Denmark but also demonstrates Danish companies’ high regard for and firm commitment to the Chinese market.
