Shanghai, China – Today marks the opening of the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE). Royal Philips, a global leader in health technology, showcased its latest innovations spanning the entire “healthcare journey” at the Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare section in Hall 7.1, featuring several star products making their premieres and debut exhibitions.
As an exhibitor for seven consecutive years, Philips unveiled its refreshed brand image at this year’s CIIE, leveraging the event’s significant influence to launch its new Chinese brand slogan: “Innovation from the Heart, Care for All.” This underscores the company’s commitment to empowering more people to access high-quality care in a timely manner through meaningful innovation.
The China edition of the “2024 Future Health Index Report,” themed “Innovation at Heart, Care for All,” was officially released at the China International Import Expo (CIIE). Launched in 2016, the inaugural year of “Philips Health Technology,” the Future Health Index Report has, over the past nine years, grown into one of the largest and most influential reports of its kind globally. This year’s survey covered 14 countries worldwide, examining the key factors hindering healthcare systems from delivering timely, high-quality care to patients amid rising patient demands, and providing a detailed analysis of pathways to overcome these challenges. As Philips’ second-largest market globally, China is one of the key markets featured in the report.
The China Edition report, based on a survey of 200 healthcare industry executives, reveals that their primary concern is how to build a resilient healthcare system while balancing economic benefits. They are adopting diverse measures, including embracing new technologies such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, and automation; promoting value-based care and novel service models; and implementing environmental protection and energy-saving initiatives. These efforts aim to reduce costs, address challenges such as talent shortages and regional disparities, and ensure timely access to standardized, high-quality services for a broader patient population.
Mr. Jia Borui, Global CEO of Philips, stated, “The needs and efforts of healthcare administrators in China align with Philips’ commitments and mission, as well as our focused direction for innovation. Our new brand slogan encapsulates our goal: timely, broad, and high-quality care. China is one of the most important markets in Philips’ global strategic landscape. We will continue to dedicate ourselves to our ‘China Strategy,’ leveraging our value proposition to drive faster and more precise local innovation, thereby supporting the Chinese healthcare system in achieving its resilience objectives.”
Ms. Liu Ling, President of Philips Greater China, stated, “Over the course of seven editions of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), we have continuously deepened and expanded our ‘localization’ strategy, achieving comprehensive local production of our products by integrating global innovation expertise with local insights. Upholding its commitment to ‘innovation from the heart, care for all,’ Philips actively responds to the Chinese government’s call to promote ‘new quality productive forces.’ We are dedicated to unleashing the productivity of healthcare professionals, providing high-quality care to more patients, and empowering consumers to better manage their own health.”
Echoing its new brand promise, “Innovation and you,” Philips showcased its comprehensive portfolio covering the entire health continuum at the China International Import Expo (CIIE), including products and solutions in oral healthcare, men’s grooming, beauty and personal care, diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, image-guided therapy, patient monitoring, healthcare informatics, and sleep and respiratory care.
In terms of professional healthcare, Philips focuses on “enhancing quality and efficiency” based on the actual clinical needs of Chinese customers, as well as doctors and patients. For example:
