Recently, a senior delegation from Algihaz Pioneer Healthcare Holding (hereinafter referred to as “AGPH”) of Saudi Arabia visited China and made a special trip to WeDoctor. At WeDoctor’s Hangzhou headquarters, the two parties formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The agreement aims to leverage their respective strengths to jointly promote the development of Saudi Arabia’s healthcare sector. This collaboration is also expected to expand to the level of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with the goal of achieving regional synergies and broader impact.

The senior delegation from AGPH first visited WeDoctor’s Hangzhou headquarters. In the exhibition hall, Dr. Wang Yang, President of WeDoctor International, provided a systematic overview of WeDoctor’s key developmental milestones. Since establishing China’s first internet hospital—the Wuzhen Internet Hospital—in 2015, WeDoctor has led the industry in continuously upgrading from internet hospitals to digital health communities and AI-enabled hospitals.
Dr. Wang Yang pointed out that the deep integration of healthcare and AI has become an inevitable trend in industry development. As a globally leading healthcare AI platform, Weiyi, driven by the dual engines of “mechanism innovation + AI empowerment,” has been deeply committed to building a cost-effective healthcare service model for over a decade, striving to promote the implementation of “value-based healthcare” and achieving remarkable results.
During the discussion, Dr. Wang Yang highlighted WeDoctor’s AI-driven Health Community model. Powered by underlying AI capabilities, this model has been implemented across multiple provinces and cities in China, significantly enhancing the efficiency and quality of local healthcare services. It has achieved multiple outcomes, including improved patient health indicators, strengthened primary care service capacity, and a reduced growth rate in medical insurance expenditures. Furthermore, the AI Health Community model has pioneered a commercialization pathway connecting hospitals to consumers (H2C), thereby unlocking new market opportunities for the industry.

Dr. Wang Yang also highlighted WeDoctor’s long-term exploration and impressive achievements in the field of medical AI. This year, leveraging its deep expertise and leading advantages in medical resources and artificial intelligence technologies, WeDoctor launched China’s first AI-powered hospital in Shanghai. The hospital integrates WeDoctor’s self-developed large medical language model and four core AI agents—“AI Physician,” “AI Pharmacist,” “AI Health Manager,” and “AI Intelligent Control”—establishing an AI-enabled closed-loop system covering “medical care, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, health management, and administration.” This provides patients with comprehensive, full-lifecycle health management spanning pre-diagnosis, during-diagnosis, and post-diagnosis stages.
Mr. Saad Fnais, CEO of AGPH, expressed high appreciation for WeDoctor’s development achievements and corporate philosophy, showing particular interest in its successful explorations in the field of medical AI. He mentioned that the digital and intelligent healthcare solutions presented by WeDoctor at the 7th Global Health Exhibition, held recently in Riyadh, left a deep impression on him. During this visit to WeDoctor, he was profoundly impressed by experiencing firsthand the cutting-edge applications of AI technology in China’s healthcare sector.
Currently, Saudi Arabia is leveraging its "Vision 2030" strategy to continuously optimize its economic structure while vigorously developing technological innovation and the healthcare industry. Under this strategy, the Saudi government plans to invest over $65 billion in developing medical infrastructure, restructuring healthcare services and insurance systems, launching 21 "health clusters," and expanding the coverage of digital health services. These initiatives aim to achieve universal health coverage, strengthen primary healthcare, implement digital health transformation, and enhance quality and patient safety.

Mr. Saad Fnais stated that the Weiyi model offers valuable insights for Saudi Arabia in advancing chronic disease management and achieving universal health coverage, presenting significant market potential in Saudi Arabia and across the Middle East. Based on the shared consensus that “AI will profoundly reshape the global healthcare landscape,” he also expressed his desire to collaborate with Weiyi in various areas, including model replication, technological innovation, and talent development.
“We look forward to seeing this outstanding ‘Chinese model’ take root in Saudi Arabia,” said Mr. Saad Fnais.
Dr. Wang Yang pointed out that WeDoctor possesses internationally leading medical AI capabilities and a mature, innovative model for healthcare services, while AGPH Company boasts abundant resources, strong capital, and inherent advantages in exploring local markets. With complementary strengths, the two parties have vast potential for cooperation.
The exchange program lasted for three days. In addition to visiting WeDoctor’s Hangzhou headquarters, the senior delegation from AGPH also made special trips to Tianjin and Shanghai to conduct in-depth explorations of WeDoctor’s AI-enabled Healthcare Community model and the WeDoctor Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Hospital.
