To seize the major strategic opportunities presented by the development of artificial intelligence (AI), accelerate the high-quality development of the digital-intelligent healthcare industry, and empower Chengdu High-Tech Zone in its capacity as a National Pilot Zone for the Innovative Development of New-Generation AI and a National Leading Zone for AI Innovation and Application, the “Park Establishment and Full Occupancy” Eco-Salon for the Digital-Intelligent Healthcare Industry, together with the Inaugural Conference of the Digital-Intelligent Healthcare Innovation Consortium, was held at the Chengdu Frontier Medical Center on January 20.
It is understood that this event centers on promoting exchange and cooperation in the digital intelligence healthcare industry, establishing a new platform for industrial collaboration, stimulating innovation vitality across related sectors, and working together to drive the high-quality development of the digital economy and health industry in Chengdu and western China.

At the event, the “Digital Intelligence Healthcare Innovation Consortium” was officially announced. According to the introduction, the consortium (hereinafter referred to as the “Consortium”) is jointly established by innovation and technology transfer institutions such as the Sichuan Provincial Medical Science and Technology Education Center and the Western China Medical Technology Transfer Center, leading medical institutions including West China Hospital and Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital, as well as globally leading multinational pharmaceutical and medical device companies such as Takeda China and Medtronic. The Consortium aims to accelerate the high-quality development of the digital intelligence healthcare industry. In the future, it will stimulate industry innovation, set industry benchmarks, and promote the coordinated development of the innovation and industrial chains in digital intelligence healthcare through a series of initiatives, including establishing a government-enterprise dialogue platform and creating an innovation competition platform for digital intelligence healthcare.

Meanwhile, the “Chengdu High-Tech Zone Digital Intelligence Medical Innovation Alliance” (hereinafter referred to as the “Alliance”) was officially established during the event. The Sichuan Western Pharmaceutical Technology Transfer Center serves as the chairing entity, with more than 60 member units, including Huajing Digital Healthcare, Brain Dynamics Aurora, Shangyi Information Technology, Baichuan Intelligence, and Yuanyi Capital. As the executive body of the consortium, the Alliance is primarily responsible for leading the implementation of the consortium’s work plan, organizing and carrying out specific business activities, and promoting achievement transformation, technological innovation, and industrial collaboration.

He expressed confidence that this initiative will provide robust support for technological innovation and the translation of scientific achievements in the digital intelligence healthcare industry, while offering application scenarios and demonstration platforms for the promotion of technological outcomes.

To further promote the interconnectivity of cutting-edge technology and innovation in the industry, more than 20 domestic and international experts gathered at the event to jointly discuss future trends, technological innovations, and industry practices in the digital intelligence healthcare sector.

Shan Guohong stated that on the morning of January 20, Takeda Pharmaceutical signed a cooperation agreement with the Chengdu High-Tech Zone to invest in establishing an innovation center for Takeda’s digital health initiatives in China. Going forward, Takeda China Innovation Center will collaborate with industry chain partners to strive for comprehensive accessibility of rare disease treatments through digital innovation. Meanwhile, it will actively participate in collaborative ecosystems, leveraging digital technologies to enhance the quality and efficiency of medical services, thereby contributing to industrial development in the Chengdu High-Tech Zone, Chengdu City, and even the broader western region of China.

As the primary engine of Chengdu’s economic development, Chengdu High-Tech Zone is actively building the National New Generation Artificial Intelligence Innovation Development Pilot Zone and the National Artificial Intelligence Innovation Application Leading Zone, providing a solid foundation for the cross-sector integration of artificial intelligence with the pharmaceutical and health industries.
As of now, Chengdu High-Tech Zone has gathered more than 140 companies in the digital intelligence medical industry, covering hot sectors such as drug R&D, medical devices, health management, and medical services, with a number of star enterprises emerging locally in Chengdu.
