Qingdao Lanhao Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Lanhao Biotech”) was established in 2019. It is a biopharmaceutical technology enterprise dedicated to the research and development of regenerative and restorative materials for oral tissues, with core products including dental bone powder, bone membranes, and teeth whitening products. The company has completed its Series A+ financing round and established a comprehensive system encompassing R&D, production, and quality control. As a National High-Tech Enterprise, Lanhao Biotech has obtained more than ten national patents and built a modern R&D and production base covering over 1,300 square meters, equipped with two sets of Grade 100,000 GMP clean workshops, along with a robust quality management system for medical device manufacturing.
Lanhao Bio pointed out that in 2023, the proportion of China's population aged 60 and above reached 21%. Consequently, driven by demographic transition and accelerating societal aging, coupled with the release of healthcare demand spurred by consumption upgrades, China’s dental restorative materials market has entered a significant period of structural opportunity. According to its market data, sales revenue in China’s dental bone powder market amounted to approximately RMB 3 billion in 2023, with market size projected to reach RMB 15 billion by 2030. This presents substantial growth potential for Lanhao Bio, given its core technological innovation capabilities.

Lanhao Biology has established three major technological barriers and innovative advantages: technological innovation capabilities, a comprehensive product portfolio layout, and first-mover market advantage. Its core product, oral bone graft powder, employs a unique mild pretreatment and low-temperature calcination process, optimizing the material’s osteoconductive properties while ensuring biosafety.
Meanwhile, the company’s independently developed periosteal product, based on decellularized bovine pericardium technology, demonstrates superior performance in material toughness and tissue induction capability. It has currently passed registration testing and filed for a national invention patent. Furthermore, the company stated that its developed teeth whitening agent has become the first domestically produced single-tube product to receive approval, successfully filling a market gap in this sector and helping to establish its differentiated competitive advantage.
It is worth noting that behind Lanhao Bio’s technological innovations lies a solid talent reserve. The company’s founder is a24 Years of Experience in the Regenerative Repair Materials IndustryChen Defu, who holds a master’s degree from Peking University Health Science Center, has led and participated in the research and development, regulatory registration, and commercialization of more than 20 Class III medical device products, generating cumulative sales amounting to billions of yuan.
Five years of deep industry engagement have enabled Lanhao Biotech to build a technology matrix comprising six Class III medical devices and more than ten related Class II products, establishing a tiered product development framework. Among its core product lines, the dental bone graft substitute has completed animal studies and entered the critical stage of regulatory submission, while the guided bone regeneration membrane has passed all registration testing and advanced to the animal study phase. Its teeth whitening agent (17% HP) officially received National Class III Medical Device approval in April 2024, making Lanhao Biotech the first domestic company to overcome the technical challenges associated with the stability of single-tube hydrogen peroxide gel.
At the strategic development level, the company has established a three-phase growth path: “Regulatory Compliance Implementation – Product Portfolio Development – Industry Leadership Establishment.” In the short term, the focus is on completing the construction of the registration and submission system for existing products. In the medium term, through a ten-year strategic plan, the company aims to continuously tackle key challenges, obtain no fewer than five Class III medical device registration certificates, and achieve annual product sales exceeding RMB 400 million, thereby establishing an industrialization benchmark. The long-term goal is to become a leading enterprise in the field of oral regenerative medicine.
Currently, Lanhao Biotech’s premium dental bone graft project has been approved as a 2025 Key Technology Breakthrough and Industrialization Demonstration Project by the Qingdao Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, and has also been recognized as an award-winning project in the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Driven by the policy orientation toward domestic substitution and the expansion of the RMB trillion-level dental healthcare market, the company, leveraging its first-mover technological advantages and comprehensive product portfolio, demonstrates substantial valuation growth potential in high-value-added niche segments such as dental implantology and aesthetic restoration.
Amid the dual opportunities presented by population aging and the substitution of domestic products for imports, LanHao Bio plans to anchor its strategy in technological innovation, building a comprehensive competitive barrier that spans the entire chain of oral regenerative repair materials. From the strategic layout of Class III medical device portfolios to the planning of industrialization pathways, LanHao Bio demonstrates its potential to leap from breaking through in niche segments to becoming a platform player in oral regenerative medicine, driven by its integrated "technology-regulatory approval-production capacity" triad strategy.
It is worth reflecting on how domestic enterprises with the capability for breakthroughs in foundational technologies can leverage policy dividends and clinical demands to reconstruct the industry value chain, against the backdrop of the expansion of the RMB 100-billion-level dental healthcare market. Lan Hao Biotech’s path of advancement may serve as an important case study for observing the localization process of high-end medical devices in China.
