On June 30, 2025, according to information from the official website of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine Co., Ltd.'s Class 1 new drug, alemcitinib (Aisuda®), was officially approved for the treatment of severe alopecia areata in adults, becoming the first domestically developed oral targeted therapy for alopecia areata in China (Application number: CXHS2400089).

This marks the fourth indication that Aisuda® has secured this year, following ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atopic dermatitis.

Elsubrutinib® is China's first independently developed highly selective JAK1 inhibitor, featuring an optimized structure of "two bicyclic rings plus one monocyclic ring," enabling precise "lock-and-key" matching with JAK1.

The approval of this newly added indication brings a "Chinese innovative solution" to the clinical management of alopecia areata.
