SHUKUN

Provider of Intelligent Products and Innovative Solutions

Eight years ago, with the launch of the world’s first coronary CTA, SHUKUN became synonymous with “pioneering” in the medical AI industry.

Subsequently, as SHUKUN implemented its “Digital Human” concept across all imaging modalities—including CT, MRI, DR, and ultrasound—and launched over 100 “Digital Doctor” products, while securing the industry’s highest number of 17 NMPA Class III medical device certificates (as of March 2025), the medical paradigm in radiology has been thoroughly revolutionized.

And this is far from the end for SHUKUN.

Three years ago, SHUKUN unveiled a milestone product symbolizing intelligent digital healthcare—“SHUKUN Multimodal Healthcare Large Model". Rather than merely a product, it is a groundbreaking invention. It redefines the depth of human-machine collaboration, evolving AI from an auxiliary tool into the core driving force of the diagnostic and therapeutic ecosystem. Today, SHUKUN Technology, embodying the role of an 'all-around champion' in medical large models, is leading the era toward a new chapter in future healthcare."

An “all-around large model” capable of interpreting medical images, understanding text, mastering data, and equipped with clinical diagnostic reasoning and practical experience

At this year’s CMEF, an all-purpose large language model hailed as the “digital-intelligence brain” of the healthcare industry—the “Shukun Kun” multimodal medical and health large language model (hereinafter referred to as the “Shukun Kun” large model)—made a stunning debut.It not only provides in-depth analysis of medical images with precise insight into details, but also interprets textual data to uncover latent information, while possessing exceptional diagnostic and therapeutic reasoning capabilities and extensive practical experience.

Leveraging this cutting-edge large language model, SHUKUN has launched the Digital Human 4.0 technology platform, along with AI-powered imaging, AI-powered ultrasound, AI-powered hospital, and AI-powered primary care solutions that have been comprehensively empowered and upgraded by the “ShuKun Kun” large model on top of the platform, as well as a series of AI-native hardware embedded with “ShuKun Kun” capabilities.

Professor Wang Peijun, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society of Radiology, and Mao Xinsheng, Founder and Chairman of SHUKUN Technology, jointly unveiled Digital Human 4.0

Professor Wang Peijun stated:The integration of large language models into Digital Human 4.0 has elevated medical imaging diagnosis, imaging management, and hospital administration to new heights. It is believed that the continuous clinical application of such products will undoubtedly enhance the efficiency and quality of healthcare delivery.

The exhibition booth was teeming with visitors, as crowds flocked to SHUKUN’s stand to witness firsthand a series of cutting-edge AI agent applications representing the future of digital and intelligent healthcare. Attendees listened as staff outlined a vision for more convenient, precise, and accessible digital and intelligent medical services in the years to come.

What is the magic behind SHUKUN’s large language model that allows people to glimpse the boundless possibilities of future healthcare?

Before answering this question, we must first raise another: In the current landscape of fierce competition among numerous large language models (LLMs), people have gained a glimpse into their capabilities—particularly those LLMs on the market that demonstrate profound mastery of medical knowledge and provide detailed insights into medical issues. But are such LLMs truly what is needed in clinical practice?

In the course of technological evolution, SHUKUN has found that the answer is no.

In real-world clinical settings, physicians are not search engines or encyclopedias of medical knowledge.The physician’s clinical reasoning process involves interpreting imaging studies such as CT and MRI, analyzing physical examination findings, identifying pathological lesions, exercising prudent clinical judgment, and ultimately formulating a precise treatment plan using standardized medical terminology.This rigorous medical reasoning logic encompasses complex cognitive processes and hands-on clinical experience. Currently, however, most large medical models on the market merely disseminate popular-science-style medical information to patients based on general medical knowledge, which cannot be considered a complete, closed-loop medical practice.

However, the “Shukun” large language model can.

image.png

Mao Xinsheng stated that Digital Human 4.0 will drive the healthcare industry’s upgrade into a new phase, aiming to equip all physicians with intelligent tools fundamentally different from today’s through digital human technology. SHUKUN is at the global forefront in both large language model development and model application.

As a large language model specialized in the medical domain, “Shukun Kun” can already identify imaging data from modalities such as CT, MRI, DR, X-ray, mammography, and ultrasound, while deeply understanding textual information including patients’ biochemical test results, diagnostic reports, past medical history, and history of present illness. Furthermore, after learning all publicly available medical guidelines, expert consensus statements, and academic papers, the Shukun large language model has also been trained on extensive real-world clinical cases and physicians’ clinical reasoning.

This makes,“Shu Kun Kun” has developed a profound understanding of textual and imaging data, as well as comprehensive mastery of diagnostic and treatment logic, based on a vast repository of medical knowledge. Furthermore, through deep learning from extensive clinical cases, it has acquired rich practical experience.

Therefore,“Shukun” Large Model is a genuine multimodal medical large model capable of thinking and working like human physicians.

An interesting anecdote emerged from the Industry Large Model Innovative Application Competition hosted by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. Numerous well-known general-purpose large models competed, including several industry “giants” in the medical track. The competition rules required all participating large models to perform on-site diagnoses for 100 complex liver disease cases, with the model achieving the highest number of accurate diagnoses declared the winner. The contest was tense and fiercely competitive. Ultimately, SHUKUN’s model secured first place by providing completely accurate diagnoses for 99 of the cases. What surprised the panel of expert judges most was that in the single case where SHUKUN’s diagnosis differed from that of human physicians, SHUKUN’s comprehensive assessment proved to be more accurate.

With this milestone, the capabilities of SHUKUN’s large model were fully recognized by the external community. Since then, the SHUKUN large model has successively received:

CAC Algorithm Filing Certification;

Ranked No. 1 on the CMB List, the world’s largest Chinese medical evaluation benchmark (current best performance);

First Prize in the Industry Large Model Innovation Application Competition hosted by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, ranking first in the medical field;

“2024 Outstanding Cases in the Development of New Quality Productive Forces” Selected by Xinhua News Agency;

Implemented at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Beijing Geriatric Hospital, the General Hospital of the Eastern Theater Command, Shenzhen People's Hospital, and others...

Launched in Zhongwei, Ningxia; Nanning, Guangxi; Wuzhong District, Suzhou; Changping District, Beijing...

AI+Ultrasound Single-Category Champion: One-Click Entry into the Era of AI-Powered Smart Whole-Body Ultrasound

At last year’s CMEF, SHUKUN’s ultrasound solution made its debut. Its innovative “AI+AR” product format not only disrupted traditional ultrasound workflows but also eliminated the cumbersome procedures associated with most ultrasound AI systems that rely on a “second screen” for assistance. Upon its launch, it quickly won over numerous hospital ultrasound departments, earning the affectionate moniker: the “second pair of eyes” for ultrasound physicians.

image.png

This year, as the second star product to be unveiled, ultrasound—powered by the “Shukun Kun” large model—centers on two key themes: whole-body AI and the “1+4” digital-intelligent ultrasound department.

As the most popular clinical examination, ultrasound offers the advantages of being non-invasive, real-time, convenient, and cost-effective. However, routine ultrasound examinations in most hospitals are limited to a few specific areas, such as the thyroid, breast, and obstetrics; only a handful of leading tertiary Grade A hospitals are capable of performing whole-body ultrasound examinations.

SHUKUN has identified this pain point and pioneered whole-body ultrasound AI. The “Multi-Region Intelligent Switching” feature, debuted at this CMEF, enables screening and diagnosis of critical conditions across major body regions—including the thyroid, breast, carotid arteries, abdomen (liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys), gynecology, obstetrics, and heart—simply by adapting to different probes.

Moreover, empowered by the “ShuKun Kun” large language model, the new generation of digital-intelligent ultrasound has achieved a significant performance leap: the underlying computing power for AI-assisted diagnosis has increased by 50%; the AR projection display frame rate has improved by 100%; and the fully silent system delivers a sixfold reduction in noise.

SHUKUN is truly thinking from doctors’ perspectives and addressing their challenges, creating “AI that is genuinely practical and easy to use” for physicians.

Beyond empowering examination rooms, the new generation of digital-intelligent ultrasound solutions also delivers a significant benefit to departments: the industry’s first “1+4” digital-intelligent ultrasound department solution, comprising one digital-intelligent ultrasound examination room and four management platforms—the Digital-Intelligent Data Asset Platform, the Digital-Intelligent Research Platform, the Digital-Intelligent Quality Control Platform, and the Digital-Intelligent Remote Consultation Platform. This solution enables ultrasound departments to accumulate valuable data, facilitate the publication of research findings, achieve comprehensive quality control, and leverage remote consultations to empower medical alliances and consortia.

It can be said that the “1+4” digital-intelligent ultrasound department solution has charted the course for the intelligent transformation of ultrasound departments.
