In Honor of Physicians, AQ Launches AI Avatars and Medical Search Suite to Empower Healthcare Professionals

On August 19, coinciding with the eighth Chinese Doctors’ Day, Ant Group’s AI health assistant AQ launched its PC Professional Edition, introducing a medical search function to support scientific research among medical professionals. AQ stated that it hopes AI can not only safeguard family health but also alleviate the burden on doctors.

In public perception, the busyness of doctors is often described as “having no time to go to the restroom during outpatient clinics, so they are afraid to drink water.” Surprisingly, data from a media-initiated Survey on Working Hours and Conditions of Medical Personnel shows that only 27.77% of medical staff hope to reduce their outpatient workload, while 47.60% wish to alleviate the burden of research activities.

To this end, AQ has launched the PC Professional Edition to better serve medical students, primary care physicians, junior doctors, and other broad healthcare professionals. The PC version retains core features of the AQ App, such as health consultations, report interpretation, and online clinical consultations. It also introduces a specialized “Medical Search” feature tailored for healthcare professionals, integrating extensive professional literature from sources like PubMed and UpToDate. This enables physicians to promptly access the latest clinical guidelines across various specialties and leverage AI tools to assist with literature review, thereby alleviating their workload to some extent.

It is reported that AQ’s “Medical Search” feature will undergo further upgrades to provide more professional and in-depth support for medical research content.

AI is gradually becoming an indispensable productivity tool for physicians in the new era. AQ has also partnered with Haodf.com to provide 300,000 doctors with “Super Doctor” assistants, such as AI-powered health education aids and AI medical record assistants. In addition to offering AI tools for clinical practice, teaching, and research, AQ has pioneered the industry’s first “AI Doctor Avatar,” enabling AI to serve as an assistant that supports physicians in daily health education and preliminary case triage, thereby empowering doctors with enhanced capacity.

Latest data shows that there are already more than 300 AI avatars of doctors on AQ, 80% of whom are renowned physicians from top-tier (Grade A tertiary) hospitals, including distinguished national academicians. These eminent specialists have extended their clinical expertise to users’ mobile devices, enabling even patients in remote regions such as Xinjiang to access premium medical resources from leading hospitals in first-tier cities.

Mao Hongjing, Chief Physician at the Mental Health Center Affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, manages a vast number of patients with insomnia through his AI avatar—the “Dr. Mao Hongjing” intelligent agent. “At my current normal patient load, I can only see about 10,000 patients per year, which is already extremely demanding. However, the intelligent agent may be able to assist over one million patients in just three months. These figures have been highly inspiring to me; by leveraging artificial intelligence, we can help many more patients.”

This July, Wang Jian’an, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Party Secretary of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, officially announced the launch of the “Jack Peace-of-Mind AI Agent,” developed in collaboration with AQ. “We aim to empower physicians through AI, enabling one doctor to perform the work of ten, thereby serving a larger patient population,” stated Wang Jian’an. “From a clinical perspective, 65% of patients undergoing minor surgeries can now be discharged the following day—a scenario previously unimaginable, as it used to require at least two weeks. Post-discharge safety and treatment adherence, including parameters such as cardiac function status, can be ensured by an intelligent agent that integrates AI, wearable devices, and medical teams.”

On the occasion of Chinese Doctors' Day, AQ issued a statement saying, “Salute to all medical practitioners. AQ hopes to leverage AI technology to reduce doctors’ burdens and empower their work, walking alongside them every step of the way.”

Previously, AQ announced a war on fraudulent medical advertisements, vowing to "ensure patients worldwide are no longer deceived." By deeply integrating AI technology into healthcare scenarios, AQ aims to enhance the efficiency of medical work through technological means. Furthermore, it is AQ’s responsibility to ensure that every household has access to reliable healthcare resources.
