On October 19, SunNovo announced that, to advance its overall strategic layout in the fields of in vivo CAR-T cell therapy and nucleic acid drugs, it plans to invest RMB 15 million from its own funds to subscribe for a new registered capital of RMB 110,556 in Yuanma Zhiyao. Upon completion of the capital increase, SunNovo will hold an 8.20% equity stake in the company.

The announcement stated that Yuanma Zhiyao was established on June 8, 2023, with a registered capital of RMB 1.11 million. Its financial status for the most recent year showed total assets of RMB 4.86 million, net assets of negative RMB 5.06 million, operating revenue of RMB 0, and a net profit of RMB 3.39 million.

SunNovo believes that this investment will help the company strengthen its strategic layout in the fields of in vivo CAR-T cell therapy and nucleic acid drugs, thereby promoting the globalization of related businesses.

According to reports, Yuanma Zhiyao focuses on the innovation and development of in vivo CAR-T nucleic acid drugs based on circular mRNA, achieving “cell therapy-like efficacy” through a “nucleic acid drug format.” This approach aims to overcome the commercialization challenges associated with conventional CAR-T therapies and provide new solutions for the unmet clinical needs of patients with various autoimmune diseases and cancers. Yuanma Zhiyao has established a leading platform for circular mRNA novel drug development, achieving a series of technological breakthroughs in high-barrier areas such as seamless and efficient circularization, AI-driven sequence design, chemical modification of circular mRNA, in vivo T-cell targeted delivery, and the design and evaluation of circular mRNA-based CAR constructs.

Currently, Yuanma Zhiyao has completed early-stage R&D for multiple pipelines, including in vivo CAR-T therapy based on circular mRNA, and is rapidly advancing toward clinical trials. It is poised to become the world’s first modified circular mRNA-based in vivo CAR-T therapy to enter clinical development.
