The 8th Meiwei Dental Group Case Competition Concludes with Focus on Multidisciplinary Integrated Diagnosis and Treatment

Blending Rigor with Innovation, and Growth with Practice: The Meiwai Dental Case Competition Provides a Stage for Young Dentists to Showcase Their Talents.

On October 29, 2025, the “8th Case Competition of Meiwei Dental Care Group” kicked off in Chongqing, the famously spicy “Mountain City.” Ms. Zhu Liya, Founding Partner and CEO of Meiwei Dental Care, attended the event alongside other group executives, general managers of business units across China, representative dentists, and industry guests.

As the Group’s flagship annual academic event, this year’s competition was themed “Multidisciplinary Team Diagnosis and Treatment · Young Physicians’ Development Program.” For the first time, it focused specifically on newly recruited young physicians, providing them with a growth pathway to transition from “single-skill proficiency” to “comprehensive clinical care” through multidisciplinary case-based competitions and in-depth exchanges of holistic clinical thinking. After rigorous selection rounds, 27 elite contestants from various business units across China gathered in Wuhan (the “River City”) to present their clinical achievements in recent years, learn diagnostic and treatment expertise from expert judges, and lay a solid foundation for their future medical practice.

To ensure fairness, impartiality, and a professional academic atmosphere in the competition’s evaluation process, this contest has specially invited distinguished guests to serve as judges and mentors. Among them is Professor Peng Bin, Dean of Topchoice Dental College, former professor, doctoral supervisor, department head, and leading discipline expert at the School of Stomatology of Wuhan University; concurrently Vice Chairman of the Chinese Stomatological Association’s Committee on Oral Laser Medicine and Standing Committee Member of its Committee on Endodontics and Operative Dentistry. A recipient of the State Council’s Special Government Allowance and recognized by the Ministry of Health as an outstanding young and middle-aged expert, Professor Peng and other esteemed experts will provide guidance to competitors and young dentists watching online.

Expert Mentor's Brilliant Comments

Compared with previous editions, this competition places particular emphasis on the professional development of early-career dentists. More than 80% of the participating dentists are young professionals who have joined their institutions within the past three years. The cases presented span multiple domains, including dental implantology, orthodontics, aesthetic restorative dentistry, and periodontal therapy, comprehensively reflecting the breadth of technical expertise and case complexity encountered in clinical dental practice. Demonstrating a high level of professionalism, the participants delivered in-depth presentations structured around six core dimensions, supported by logically organized PowerPoint slides and precise, engaging oral reports. These dimensions include: analysis of patients’ primary concerns, systematic review of medical history, design of personalized treatment plans, implementation of standardized diagnostic and therapeutic protocols, evaluation of mid- to long-term prognostic outcomes, and assessment of patient satisfaction feedback.

This process not only highlights the physicians’ solid theoretical foundation and proficient clinical skills, but also conveys their professional dedication and passion for the field of dentistry. Furthermore, by fully integrating humanistic care into treatment planning and doctor–patient communication, it achieves an organic unity of technical expertise and humanistic service.

Profiles of Participating Physicians

Drawing on their extensive clinical experience and profound academic expertise, the panel of expert judges conducted a comprehensive and meticulous review of each submitted case. They provided professional, in-depth inquiries, comments, and guidance across multiple dimensions, including case quality, complexity, treatment outcomes, diagnostic and therapeutic reasoning, academic value, completeness of presentation, and logical coherence in Q&A sessions. While highlighting strengths, they also pointed out areas for improvement in the cases presented by young physicians, thereby charting a clear course for their professional development. The expert mentors delivered witty remarks and memorable insights throughout, filling the competition venue with laughter.

After fierce competition, Dr. Wang Yifeng from Tianjin Aichi Stomatology with his presentation “Step-by-Step: Full-Arch Reconstruction Guided by Functional Restoration,” Dr. Jiang Zhongwei from Huizhou Zhimei Stomatology with his presentation “A Case of Severe Anterior Tooth Wear Restored Using the ‘Dahl’ Technique,” and Dr. Huang Xuexin from Shanghai Weile Stomatology with his presentation “A Case of Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Treatment” were awarded the First Prize in this competition. Their outstanding cases received unanimous acclaim from the judges for their completeness, complexity, diagnostic accuracy, treatment planning, clinical outcomes, as well as the collection, photography, and production of case documentation. They also impressed the judges with their on-site Q&A performance and professional demeanor, earning affirmation and recognition from their respective patients. Notably, Dr. Wang Yifeng was further honored with the President’s Special Award for his exceptional on-stage presence and a rigorous yet humorous speaking style.

The continued hosting of the Meiwei Dental Case Competition reflects the Group’s commitment to the essence of medical practice, its emphasis on physician development, and its pursuit of patient satisfaction. Over the years, the competition has not only enhanced physicians’ clinical skills but also strengthened the cohesion of the Meiwei medical team. This case competition also marked the long-awaited return of live online streaming, enabling physicians unable to attend in person to engage in learning and exchange via the livestream. Furthermore, it allowed the general public to witness Meowei’s commitment to professionalism and its determination to “strictly safeguard the lifeline of medical quality.”
