As the digital transformation of the global dental industry accelerates, a new industry consensus is emerging:Digitization is no longer merely about upgrading individual devices, but rather a systematic engineering endeavor that reshapes the entire restorative workflow.

Over the past decade, digital dentistry has expanded to both clinical practices and dental laboratories. However, as materials, equipment, and software have long been fragmented across different enterprises, overall industry efficiency remains constrained by a disjointed workflow. From impression-taking to processing, and from design to sintering, the lack of process continuity, inconsistent standards, high communication costs, and prolonged delivery cycles persist. These structural challenges have yet to be truly resolved.

Meanwhile, China’s dental industry chain is rapidly rising on the global stage, particularly in the upstream materials sector, where the gap between mainstream products and their international counterparts in terms of performance and pricing is continuously narrowing. This intense “involution” has shifted the focus of industry competition from a mere “battle over product specifications” to a higher-dimensional “contest of systemic efficiency.” The market is no longer satisfied with upgrades to individual materials or standalone equipment; instead, it increasingly pursues stability, controllability, and replicability across the entire workflow—from clinics to dental laboratories, and from data to manufacturing. This transformation has created new growth opportunities for enterprises capable of providing comprehensive, end-to-end solutions.

Against this backdrop, a Shenzhen-based dental company has caught our attention—in May 2025, Shenzhen Yurucheng Dental Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “YUCERA”) completed a new round of financing amounting to tens of millions of RMB,This marks Zijingang Capital’s fourth consecutive strategic increase in its investment since 2022.

Behind the sustained attention from capital lies YUCERA’s unique approach to addressing the aforementioned industry pain points. Unlike the common single-point breakthroughs seen in the industry, YUCERA has established a seemingly “cumbersome” systematic pathway—a heavy-asset model integrating “materials + equipment + services.” This model horizontally connects the entire value chain, spanning core materials such as zirconia and glass-ceramics, intelligent equipment including milling machines and sintering furnaces, and global 24/7 responsive services. By bridging the fragmentation inherent in digital restoration workflows through this systematic approach, YUCERA transforms uncertain manual expertise into controllable, standardized efficiency.

The strategic value of this “asset-heavy model” has been validated in the most demanding markets. As a provider of comprehensive digital dentistry solutions,YUCERA has now expanded its presence to over 200 countries and regions worldwide, with the cumulative number of dental restorations served surpassing 100 million units. Moreover, its revenue has achieved multi-fold growth for five consecutive years. What is even more remarkable,Over 70% of its revenue comes from mature markets in Europe and the United States, which have extremely high quality requirements.

How has YUCERA captured 70% of its revenue in the European and American markets, which are dominated by industry giants? Why has its heavily invested, end-to-end model become a viable pathway for Chinese dental companies to go global?

Crossing Over from PCB: Using a “Materials + Equipment + Services” Heavy-Asset Model to Solve Efficiency Bottlenecks in Dental Digitalization

Tracing the origins of YUCERA, the background of its founder, Liu Jianjun, is quite representative. He spent over a decade in factory management at a Hong Kong-funded PCB (printed circuit board) manufacturer before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey in 2012. With more than twenty years of deep involvement in the PCB industry, he has personally witnessed both the peaks and troughs of the consumer electronics sector.

In 2017, Liu Jianjun recognized that the PCB industry was on the verge of entering a phase of saturation-based competition, prompting him to actively seek opportunities for transformation. After conducting market research, he set his sights on the dental healthcare sector. However, he quickly discovered a significant “efficiency black hole” within the industry: first, low operational efficiency, characterized by high communication costs between clinicians and technicians and prolonged patient waiting times; second, low technical efficiency, marked by fragmented processes in data acquisition, design, and manufacturing, heavy reliance on individual expertise, and difficulties in achieving standardized quality.

“Systemic pain points require systemic solutions.” Liu Jianjun believes that for digital dentistry to be truly implemented, the core lies in connecting the links between doctors, patients, and dental laboratories. Therefore, YUCERA has positioned itself as a “comprehensive digital dental solutions provider” since its inception.

It is precisely around this positioning that YUCERA has been committed to building an integrated “materials + equipment + services” model since its inception. Although this is arguably the “asset-heaviest” model in the industry, as it requires a company to simultaneously possess R&D capabilities in materials science, manufacturing capabilities for equipment, and a resilient service network, once this closed-loop system is established, it can transform the originally fragmented manual processes into a standardized digital production line. This ensures precise transmission at every stage, from CAD/CAM milling to material sintering, ultimately guaranteeing that each restoration delivers stable and predictable quality. This capability to address “end-to-end” coordination challenges ultimately constitutes YUCERA’s strategic barrier, which is difficult for competitors to replicate.

Deep Integration of R&D, Process Engineering, and Intelligent Manufacturing Capabilities

Under the strategic framework of “Materials + Equipment + Services,” YUCERA has not settled for merely stacking single product categories but has instead built a diversified product ecosystem covering the entire cycle of dental restoration.

In terms of materials, the company’s product portfolio covers a full range of applications, from basic to high-end aesthetic solutions. This includes the mature and stable basic zirconia series (HT series zirconia blocks), as well as high-end aesthetic zirconia series benchmarked against top international standards (3D Magic Cube Zirconia, 4D Magic Cube Zirconia, Magic Cube Porcelain, Dongyu) and glass-ceramic products.

YUCERA’s recently launched 3D Ultra-Fast Sintering Zirconia material represents a significant breakthrough in enhancing efficiency. As a rapid-sintering zirconia material, “3D Ultra-Fast” achieves a balance between a flexural strength of 1050 MPa and an incisal translucency of 57%, enabling natural gradients in strength, color, and translucency to comprehensively meet restorative requirements for both aesthetic and functional zones. When paired with the YUCERA YRC-HS007 sintering furnace, it enables rapid sintering of single crowns in just 40 minutes. Compared to traditional sintering cycles lasting several hours, this significantly improves denture processing efficiency, making “while-you-wait” chairside services possible.

Furthermore, YUCERA is closely addressing specific clinical pain points by developing shade-masking glass ceramics for fluorosis and tetracycline-stained teeth, as well as antibacterial denture restorative materials that reduce the incidence of gingivitis. From general-purpose products to specialized functional materials, YUCERA’s competitive moat continues to widen.

On the device side, YUCERA covers the most critical equipment in dental restoration, including milling machines, scanners, and sintering furnaces. To address the common “front-store, back-factory” model prevalent in overseas markets, it has launched the 8PRO wet-and-dry integrated milling machine; for large-scale dental laboratories, it offers multi-tray milling machines such as the 9PRO, catering to processing needs of varying scales.

The Underlying Logic of Counter-Trend Global Expansion: Driven by Technology, Systems, and Stability

In its globalization strategy, product strength is the key to unlocking markets, while the underlying systemic capabilities truly determine how far it can go. Over the past seven years, YUCERA has successfully entered more than 200 countries and regions, achieving multi-fold revenue growth for five consecutive years. Notably, revenue from mature markets in Europe and the United States accounts for over 70%, fully demonstrating the success of its “technology export + localized operations” strategy.

Liu Jianjun shared that the key to YUCERA’s foothold in the most mature, professional, and brand-loyal market lies not solely in pricing, but in the comprehensive demonstration of three core capabilities:

First, prioritize qualifications to overcome market access barriers.YUCERA holds multiple internationally recognized certifications, including FDA, CE, and MDSAP, ensuring seamless market entry in highly regulated regions such as Europe, the United States, South Korea, and Latin America.

Second, intelligent manufacturing brings stable quality and large-scale supply capabilities.Backed by one of Shenzhen’s first batch of advanced smart factories, YUCERA operates fully automated production lines with a monthly capacity of 300,000 units for zirconia and 100,000 units for glass-ceramics. This intelligent, automated production system enables the company to achieve large-scale manufacturing while ensuring high quality and maintaining cost controllability—a rare advantage in the global supply chain.

3. Service downgrading to fill the "time difference" gap. While local enterprises in Europe and the United States tend to have a relatively slower service pace, YUCERA has replicated “Shenzhen Speed” on a global scale by providing 24/7 online technical support. Furthermore, the company builds brand awareness, strengthens mutual trust with local customers, distributors, and dental professionals, and ultimately enhances end-user stickiness by organizing professional academic exchanges, actively participating in premier local dental exhibitions, and customizing localized marketing strategies.

Amid intensifying global economic uncertainty and a broader slowdown in the dental industry, the value of these three systemic capabilities has been further amplified. For healthcare institutions, consistent product performance, a stable supply chain, and responsive service not only help mitigate risks but also optimize costs and enhance patient experience. YUCERA’s sustained global growth is precisely attributable to its ability to deliver the most coveted stability to customers during turbulent cycles.

The Second Half of Dental Digitalization: From Digitalization to a Digital-Intelligent Ecosystem

Looking back on the past decade, digital equipment from imported brands has dominated technological advancements in the dental industry; however, in the coming decade, builders of the digital-intelligent ecosystem will wield greater definitional power.

Reviewing the evolution of the global dental industry, we are currently in the “second evolution” of digital dentistry: the industry is advancing from mere “digitization of individual devices” toward “intelligent digitalization of the entire workflow.” The future restorative dentistry supply chain will prioritize systemic capabilities centered on seamless continuity, high efficiency, standardization, reproducibility, and near-zero error rates.

YUCERA has come to deeply recognize that the core of this evolution lies not in the mere accumulation of hardware specifications, but in the reshaping of user experience. Guided by this philosophy, digital intelligence is endowed with concrete scenario-based significance: it translates into more precise diagnostic experiences for clinicians, more stable production workflows for dental technicians, and higher-quality, faster-delivery service experiences for patients.

To support the implementation of this digital-intelligence ecosystem, YUCERA is simultaneously exerting efforts across technology, manufacturing, and marketing. In terms of materials, the company continuously iterates its zirconia and glass-ceramic systems, advancing toward higher performance and greater consistency. On the equipment front, it is promoting an intelligent device ecosystem featuring multi-scenario and multi-mode capabilities. In manufacturing, YUCERA is building a highly intelligent production system by integrating AI and automation technologies. In the market sector, the company will continue to deepen its presence in Europe and the United States while expanding into high-growth regions such as those along the “Belt and Road.”

Evolving from a single-product provider to a driver of digital-intelligent transformation in the industry, YUCERA is building a replicable and implementable digital-intelligent dental ecosystem. As “Intelligent Manufacturing in China” begins to export standards and ecosystems, a new era of globalization for Chinese dental brands has just begun.
