Under the backdrop of the in-depth advancement of the “Healthy China 2030” strategy and the integrated development of health technology and science popularization, the selection of typical annual cases of health science communication at the 2025 inaugural Health Technology and Science Popularization Conference has successfully concluded. The event was guided by the Chinese Society for Science and Technology Journalism and the Hainan Provincial Medical Academic Exchange Management Center; hosted by the Health Communication Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Science and Technology Journalism and the Beijing Chen Jumei Public Welfare Foundation; supported by the Hainan Association for Science and Technology, the Wenchang Municipal People’s Government, and the Hainan Medical Association; and organized by Ziwoo Internet Hospital and VCBeat.
This selection initiative, with the goal of “identifying high-quality health science popularization practices and honoring professional forces in health communication,” is soliciting outstanding cases from medical institutions, health technology enterprises, research institutes, social organizations, and health communicators across China. It aims to identify a group of benchmark examples in health science popularization that demonstrate professional depth, broad reach, and innovative strength.
Following multiple rounds of professional review and rigorous selection, two categories of awards—“Annual Outstanding Science Communication Individuals” and “Annual Outstanding Science Communication Works”—were ultimately conferred, with 50 winners and works emerging as distinguished recipients. They are not only creators of science communication content but also sowers of health concepts and pioneers in the integration of technology.
Annual Outstanding Science Communication Figure
From “Behind-the-Scenes Drivers” to “Spotlight Stars,” Science Popularization Efforts Are Flourishing Across the Board.
In the selection for the “Annual Outstanding Science Communication Figures,” three award categories have been established: “Best Promoter,” “Best Communicator,” and “Best Emerging Talent.” These awards cover practitioners across the entire value chain, from content planning and platform development to frontline dissemination. Grounded in professionalism and breaking down barriers through innovation, they serve as a vital link connecting professional health resources with public needs.
Outstanding Promoters
They are the “pathbuilders” of science popularization, playing a pivotal role in platform development, resource integration, and model innovation. From founders of hospital-based integrated health media centers to leaders of health-focused multi-channel network (MCN) agencies, they apply systematic thinking to advance science popularization from fragmented efforts toward structured, systematized operations.

Best Communicator
They are the “megaphones” of science communication, leveraging their professional medical expertise and exceptional communication skills to translate complex knowledge into accessible content. Having amassed millions of followers across major platforms, they have become “trusted health advocates” in the public eye.

Best Emerging Talent
They are the “Rising Stars” of future science communication. As young physicians or cross-disciplinary creators, they adeptly leverage new media language to break down knowledge barriers through vivid expression, demonstrating robust creative vitality and strong potential for dissemination.

Outstanding Popular Science Communication Works of the Year
Formal Boundaries Continue to Be Broken: Technology and Art Empower Innovation in Science Popularization.
The Annual Outstanding Science Popularization Works are divided into two categories: “Best Innovative Work” and “Best Dissemination Work.” Among the selected works this year, the deep integration of technology and content has emerged as a prominent highlight.
Best Innovative Work
From AI-generated personalized science communication content to immersive experiences in VR health scenarios; from knowledge acquisition through interactive games to emotional resonance in professional science museums and art installations—these works have broken the boundaries of traditional science communication, transforming health education from “passive reception” to “active participation,” and upgrading it from “one-way dissemination” to “two-way interaction.”

Best Communication Work
A wave of blockbuster content, reaching tens of millions, has risen to prominence. Whether by offering practical tips that directly address public concerns or through emotional storytelling that sparks widespread resonance, these works demonstrate the powerful potential of high-quality science communication in achieving precise outreach, guiding behavior, and mobilizing society.

Trend Outlook
Health Science Popularization Enters the Era of "New Quality Productive Forces."
Through this selection process, we are witnessing a leap in the health science communication ecosystem: transitioning from “amateur output” to “professional engineering.” Health science communication is no longer merely an “extracurricular contribution” by physicians; rather, it has become a vital component of hospital brand building, a core business for professional institutions operating at scale, and a key vertical sector strategically prioritized by technology platforms.
From “Knowledge Dissemination” to “Emotional Connection”: Humanized IP, Narrative Expression, and Immersive Experience Transform Science Popularization from a Cold Accumulation of Facts into a Warm, Story-Driven, and Companionable Content Experience That Truly Resonates with Audiences and Influences Behavior.
From “Social Benefits” to “Comprehensive Value”: High-quality science popularization not only enhances national health literacy but also builds a new type of doctor-patient trust and reduces societal healthcare costs, gradually forming a new ecosystem for science communication characterized by a virtuous cycle of “professional value–social recognition–economic return.”
This health science popularization competition is not only a recognition of outstanding individuals and works, but also a microcosm and outlook on the development of the industry. It demonstrates that a new ecosystem for health science popularization—guided by the government, participated in by hospitals and enterprises, practiced by physicians, empowered by technology, and embraced by the public—is taking shape in a comprehensive manner.
A Tribute to Every Passion:
Selections Are Timely, Dissemination Is Boundless
Although this selection has concluded, the journey of health science popularization is endless. To this end, we have established a “Cloud Science Popularization Exhibition” for all participants, where every thoughtfully submitted work will shine. Here, there are no distinctions between “shortlisted” and “unselected”; only the passion and wisdom invested by each science communicator illuminate the same stage.
We firmly believe:
Every professional dedicated to science communication deserves to be remembered;
Every piece of content that promotes health deserves to be illuminated;
Selection is not the end; dissemination is just the beginning.
