To thoroughly implement the national strategic plans for “promoting the inheritance, innovation, and development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)” and “facilitating the deep integration of artificial intelligence with healthcare,” Chuanshen Suwen (Wuhan) Digital Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Chuanshen Suwen”) and Yimai AI Medical Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Tianzhong Yimai”) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing on December 17, 2025. The two parties announced that they would engage in deep collaboration centered on the “Chuanshen Suwen TCM Large Model + Renowned TCM Practitioner Digital Twin Model” and “Intelligent Diagnostic and Therapeutic Equipment,” jointly building an intelligent solution covering the entire TCM diagnosis and treatment process. This move marks a critical step for China in leveraging modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to empower the modernization of TCM, shifting from isolated breakthroughs to systematic and ecological development, and represents an important practice in cultivating new quality productive forces in the field of TCM.
At present, the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is experiencing a period of rapid development, yet it simultaneously faces contemporary challenges such as innovating models for the inheritance of clinical experience, advancing the objectification and standardization of diagnosis and treatment, and extending high-quality service capabilities to grassroots levels. This collaboration represents a proactive response by two leaders, each deeply entrenched in distinct niches of TCM intelligentization, to address these industry-wide common challenges. The two parties aim to leverage their complementary technological and resource advantages to explore an innovative application pathway for “Artificial Intelligence + TCM” that aligns with the inherent principles of TCM and is guided by clinical value.

Building a Collaborative System: Deeply Integrating the “Smart Brain” with “Precision Sensors”
The core of the collaboration lies in integrating the key chain of “perception-cognition-decision” for intelligent traditional Chinese medicine.
As a dedicated pioneer in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) artificial intelligence, Chuanshen Suwen has developed its proprietary “Chuanshen Suwen TCM Large Language Model,” which serves as the “intelligent brain” of this collaboration. Rather than a simple adaptation of general-purpose technologies, this model is built upon deep semantic analysis of classical TCM theoretical frameworks and has been trained and optimized using vast amounts of high-quality real-world clinical data. Its core value lies in the digital modeling of complex TCM syndrome differentiation logic. By integrating and analyzing multi-source heterogeneous information—including tongue inspection, pulse diagnosis, facial observation, and patient inquiry—the model supports physicians in the cognitive process from collecting the Four Diagnostic information to determining syndromes and formulating treatment principles. This innovation drives the evolution of TCM diagnostic and therapeutic paradigms from traditional “experience-driven” approaches to a dual-engine model powered by both data and knowledge.
Tianzhong Yimai has long been dedicated to the fields of “modernized diagnostic and therapeutic equipment for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)” and “TCM artificial intelligence technologies.” It pioneered the construction of the theoretical and technical framework for “Smart TCM Engineering,” conducting in-depth technological research and industrial deployment in areas such as objective, standardized, and intelligent TCM diagnostic techniques, as well as the development of modernized TCM equipment. Recognized by the industry as a cornerstone enterprise in the “intelligent sensing” segment, Tianzhong Yimai has developed a series of smart devices centered on the four TCM diagnostic methods—inspection, auscultation and olfaction, inquiry, and palpation. These devices transform diagnostic information that traditionally relies on physicians’ subjective perception into quantifiable and traceable objective data, thereby addressing the “first mile” challenge of standardizing TCM data acquisition. Its mature equipment R&D and manufacturing system ensures the reliability, consistency, and clinical applicability of data collection, providing high-quality data inputs for upper-level intelligent applications.
Strategic Focus: Addressing National Needs Through Scientific Research Breakthroughs and Product Innovation
Based on clear collaborative positioning, both parties will strictly adhere to the spirit of relevant national policies, focus on three strategic pathways, and drive the implementation of outcomes.
First, we will jointly establish the Key Laboratory of Intelligent TCM Diagnosis and Treatment Technologies and Equipment to promote deep integration among industry, academia, and research. As a council member unit, Chuanshen Suwen will participate extensively in the development of the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Intelligent TCM Diagnosis and Treatment Technologies and Equipment. By integrating both parties’ capabilities in large language models for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), medical devices, and artificial intelligence, we aim to build this laboratory into a national hub for technological research and translation in the field of smart TCM, fostering high-quality, comprehensive development in disciplinary advancement, talent attraction and cultivation, R&D innovation, and industrial implementation.
Second, jointly explore the market for portable TCM devices and solidify the data foundation for smart TCM. Leveraging Chuan Shen Su Wen’s large TCM model—particularly its capabilities in TCM semantic understanding and multimodal information fusion—and Tianzhong Yimai’s mature R&D and manufacturing system for TCM diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, both parties will collaborate to build a comprehensive TCM data chain covering the entire process of data acquisition, integration, and analysis. This will provide critical data support for the intelligent development of TCM. Meanwhile, the two parties will establish industry application benchmarks through flagship projects, gradually extending their collaborative achievements to scenarios such as medical institutions, the broader health industry, and home health management, thereby making smart TCM accessible to a wider population.
Third, establish a new paradigm for “Smart TCM Going Global” to support health cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Leveraging an integrated system of “AI + intelligent TCM diagnostic and therapeutic devices,” both parties will jointly explore new pathways for the international expansion of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). By integrating large-model-based intelligent diagnosis, cross-language capabilities, and portable smart TCM devices, we will build an all-in-one solution encompassing “precise translation, intelligent diagnosis, and cultural adaptation,” thereby breaking down barriers to international promotion. Focusing on markets along the Belt and Road, we will set benchmarks through demonstration projects, forming a strategic closed loop of “domestic validation – overseas demonstration – global promotion.” This approach not only aligns with national strategies but also contributes Chinese wisdom to global health governance.
He Enpei, founder of Chuanshen Suwen, stated, “The integration of artificial intelligence with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) must deeply respect the intrinsic logic of TCM. Our goal is to enable AI to truly ‘understand’ TCM, rather than merely processing text.”“Partnering with Tianzhong Yimai, which has deep expertise in device-side technology, is precisely aimed at transforming this ‘understanding’ into tangible and usable clinical productivity for physicians, fully aligning with the core essence of developing new-quality productive forces.”
Zhou Peng, Chairman of Tianzhong Yimai, stated, “We have always firmly believed that equipment innovation is an indispensable component of the modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Our strategic partnership with Chuanshen Suwen has endowed our ‘digital senses’ with a powerful ‘TCM AI Brain.’ This achieves a qualitative leap from ‘data acquisition’ to ‘information understanding,’ signifying that we can jointly deliver comprehensive intelligent solutions to the industry, rather than merely individual devices.”
This strategic collaboration represents a forward-looking initiative to deeply integrate Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with modern information technology. Industry experts believe that this “integrated hardware-software, collaborative R&D and application” model is poised to provide systematic solutions to key bottlenecks in the inheritance and innovation of TCM, thereby contributing TCM wisdom and innovative strength to the establishment of a healthcare science and technology system with Chinese characteristics and world-class standards. Both parties stated that they will take this collaboration as a new starting point to continuously deepen their synergy and jointly set an industry benchmark for the innovative development of “AI + TCM.”
