Dec 23, 2025 11:38 CST Updated 11:38

December 20-21, 2025: The 2025 ZAODX Early Screening Conference was successfully held in Guangzhou. The ConferenceBringing together leading figures and professionals from the fields of government, industry, academia, research, investment, and healthcare,Through the main forum,Ten parallel thematic forums and an awards ceremony, spanning across“A Platform for Achievement Transformation and Industrial Exchange and Cooperation Covering the Full Chain of Prevention, Screening, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Rehabilitation.”

Through cutting-edge reports, roundtable dialogues, and showcases of achievements, industry experts engaged in in-depth discussions on technological innovation, translation of research findings, and pathways to universal access in the field of early screening, jointly outlining a new blueprint for the high-quality development of the early screening sector. According to statistics from the organizing committee, the conference attracted over 2,000 offline attendees, establishing itself as a key benchmark for gathering innovative elements, accelerating the translation of innovative achievements, and promoting the high-quality development of the industry.

Themed “Integrating Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for a Disease-Free World,” this conference is jointly organized by the Guangdong Health Care Association, the Greater Bay Area Institute of Precision Medicine (Guangzhou), the Guangdong Nanshan Medical Innovation Research Institute, the Cancer Screening and Early Diagnosis and Treatment Professional Committee of the Guangdong Anti-Cancer Association, Cancer Screening and Prevention / Huayu Publishing House, the Cell Medicine Branch of the China Food and Drug Enterprise Quality and Safety Promotion Association, the Hainan Medical Innovation Promotion Association, the Beijing Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Education Research Association, the Western Digital Intelligence Medical Research Institute, the Guangzhou Lianchuang Mingyi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Guangzhou Development District Biopharmaceutical and Health Industry Promotion Association, Guangdong MedValley, and Zao Dx.

The conference was co-chaired by Professor Chen Wanqing, Professor Xing Jinliang, Professor Pan Kaifeng, Professor Tang Shiqi, Professor Zhang Qun, Professor Du Yiqi, Professor Lin Xinhua, Professor Zhang Kai, Professor Cao Sumei, Professor Wang Xiaoning, Professor Youlin Qiao, Professor Hu Kaiwen, Professor Chen Junhui, Professor Lu Guohui, Professor Xiao Guishan, Professor Pan Xinghua, and Professor Liren Li. The executive chairs were Ms. Sun Yuqing, Professor Liang Wenhua, Professor Qiu Mantang, Professor Luo Huaichao, Professor Ye Mingzhi, Professor Hou Zhibo, Professor Xia Kai, Professor Li Xiaosong, Professor Xiong Yufeng, Professor Lin Liming, Mr. Xu Mengchao, and Mr. Chen Zanquan.

Professor Chen Wanqing, Director of the Office of Cancer Registry at the National Cancer Center and Chair of the Committee on Cancer Prevention and Control of the China National Health AssociationAt the opening ceremony, it was stated that under the “Healthy China 2030” strategy, the cancer prevention and control system is undergoing a fundamental shift from being “treatment-centered” to being “people’s health-centered,” and that “early screening, early diagnosis, and early treatment” are key to reducing the disease burden and improving the overall health of the population.

In 2022, there were approximately 4.82 million new cancer cases and over 2.57 million cancer-related deaths in China. As a systematic public health initiative, early screening is both urgent and critical. The theme of this conference is “Integrating Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for a Disease-Free World,” with a special “Ethnic Medicine Oncology Forum” established to integrate modern early screening technologies with the traditional wisdom of “preventive treatment of disease,” thereby exploring a new model of tumor prevention and control with Chinese characteristics.

Professor Chen also pointed out that the industry still faces challenges in terms of coverage, standardization, health economics, and public education. He called on all sectors to build consensus, foster a collaborative innovation ecosystem, and jointly promote the equitable access of scientific and technological achievements for the benefit of the public.

President of the Guangdong Health Care AssociationProfessor Wang ShengliangHe articulated three core insights: First, he emphasized revitalizing the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in “preventive treatment of disease” within the era of early screening, shifting health management from “disease detection” to “building a lifelong health barrier.” Second, he fully affirmed the strategic significance of establishing the “Ethnic Medicine Anti-Cancer Forum,” calling for a scientific approach to explore and validate the unique value of various ethnic medicines in cancer treatment, thereby offering “Chinese solutions” and “ethnic wisdom” to the world. Third, he advocated that the true merit of “integrating TCM with Western medicine” lies in deep fusion and collaborative action, promoting the practical combination of modern technology with TCM’s holistic perspective and syndrome differentiation in areas such as risk assessment and personalized intervention. He concluded by stressing that all explorations must ultimately “serve people,” and called on all sectors to adopt an open, inclusive, and pragmatic cooperative attitude to jointly advance the prevention and control of diseases upstream, thereby enhancing the health and well-being of the entire population.

Professor Barry Marshall, Winner of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Physiology or MedicineEmphasis: The severity of cancer as a major global public health challenge. He pointed out that early screening and diagnosis are the most effective strategies for reducing mortality rates and improving patients’ quality of life. Professor Marshall expressed particular appreciation for this year’s conference theme, “Integrating Chinese and Western Medicine for a Disease-Free World,” noting that combining modern precision medicine technologies with the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s “preventive treatment” approach can build a more comprehensive and robust system for cancer prevention and control, offering great hope for global health. He affirmed China’s achievements in promoting medical innovation and equitable access to healthcare, expressing confidence that this conference will further consolidate efforts, spur innovation, and accelerate collaboration, ultimately advancing the universal accessibility of cancer screening and creating a healthier future for all humanity.

Professor Hu Kaiwen, Academic Leader of the Department of Oncology at Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Renowned TCM Physician of Beijingdelivered a keynote speech titled “AI-Empowered Traditional Chinese Medicine for the Prevention and Treatment of Pulmonary Nodules,” systematically sharing his team’s cutting-edge explorations and practical achievements in the deep integration of artificial intelligence (AI) with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In response to the large population of patients with pulmonary nodules in China and the prevailing dilemma of “predominant follow-up with limited intervention,” Professor Hu, centered on the TCM philosophy of “preventive treatment of disease,” combined radiomics, multimodal data, and large language model technologies to construct a precise assessment and prediction system for high-risk pulmonary nodules. This approach advances the advantageous TCM interventions to an earlier stage, prior to meeting surgical indications. Professor Hu also introduced progress in intelligent models based on CT imaging, facial features, and tongue images, as well as the implementation effectiveness of the “Digital TCM Service Platform” in real-world clinical and primary care settings. He demonstrated how AI is reshaping a new green prevention and treatment model for pulmonary nodules and even tumors—from auxiliary diagnosis and prescription decision-making to heritage and training—providing an innovative pathway with distinct TCM characteristics for early screening, early assessment, and early intervention.
