In addition, Joris Silon, the new Head of Investor Relations, will succeed Andy Barnett on March 1, 2026, based in Cambridge, UK. Joris will transition from his role as President of AstraZeneca US, where he led and drove significant growth for AstraZeneca in its largest market. With extensive pharmaceutical experience, Joris has held leadership positions across Asia, Europe, and the United States since joining AstraZeneca in 2000.
Public records indicate that Rick R. Suarez, who has recently assumed his new role, was born in the United States and joined AstraZeneca in 1999 as a pharmaceutical sales representative. He has held various functional positions across the business, including in marketing, medical affairs, and market access. In 2020, Mr. Suarez began serving as President of AstraZeneca Spain, where he led one of AstraZeneca’s best-performing European markets and expanded Spain’s role in global clinical development.
