VCBeat has learned that Alibaba Health’s flagship AI product, “Hydrogen Ion,” has completed internal testing and is now available for download.

Confirmed by multiple credible sources, the product has entered the practical application phase, primarily targeting physicians in clinical and research settings. It is reported that “Hydrogen Ion” emphasizes its core capabilities of “low hallucination rate and high evidence-based practice.” All responses are supported by authoritative references, enabling one-click source tracing and direct access to original materials, with the aim of becoming the AI assistant with the lowest hallucination rate in the medical field.

Previously, Alibaba Health’s financial reports also revealed that its self-developed medical large language model is actively exploring application scenarios in the field of serious medical care, striving to enhance the model’s AI-driven evidence-based capabilities in key areas such as clinical decision-making and clinical research. This time, “Hydrogen Ion” represents the first productized manifestation of this model’s capabilities.

Multiple physicians participating in the beta testing reported that “Hydrogen Ion” demonstrated high accuracy in tasks such as evidence-based Q&A, evidence synthesis, and analytical summarization. It is particularly well-aligned with the workflows of Chinese physicians in intelligent retrieval within clinical and research contexts, as well as in the review of Chinese and English literature. While its product logic resembles that of the widely acclaimed overseas platform OpenEvidence, it offers superior advantages in localized user experience.

Previously, Alibaba had already entered the consumer-facing (C-end) health services market through Tongyi Qianwen and Ant Group’s Aifu. Applications in high-threshold, highly professional serious medical scenarios are handled by AliHealth, which has been deeply engaged in the healthcare sector for over a decade. With this move, Alibaba has achieved a complete “C+D” (consumer and doctor) AI strategy in the healthcare field, thereby rounding out its medical AI portfolio.
