● The proceeds will be used to support Phase 2 clinical trials of CX11, an oral small-molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist (RA), currently underway in the United States and planned for global expansion, and to advance other cardiometabolic programs.


January 21, 2026, New Jersey, USA—CORXEL (hereinafter referred to as “CORXEL”), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing innovative therapies for patients with cardiovascular and metabolic diseases worldwide, today announced the successful completion of its Series D1 financing, raising up to $287 million. The proceeds from this round will be primarily used to advance the development of its pipeline candidate CX11. CX11 is an oral small-molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) with unique advantages. CORXEL is currently conducting a Phase 2 clinical trial in the United States to evaluate CX11 for the treatment of obesity and overweight, while its partner, Wentai Medicine, is conducting a Phase 3 clinical trial in China. In addition, the funds will be used to advance other cardiovascular and metabolic projects, including pipeline development for acute ischemic stroke and hypertension.


New investors in this financing round include S.R.One Ltd., TCGX, Adage Capital Management, RA Capital Management, HBM Healthcare Investments, SymBiosis, Invus, SilverArc Capital, and other investors. Existing investors RTW Investments and Hengdian Capital Venture Capital (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. continued their participation, demonstrating their sustained confidence in the unique clinical advantages of CX11, CORXEL’s clinical development capabilities, and the company’s long-term strategy.


The funds raised in this round will be used for:

● Advance the development of the company’s core pipeline candidate, CX11, including the ongoing Phase 2 clinical trial in the United States for the treatment of obesity and overweight, as well as the planned global Phase 2 clinical trial for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, and support preparatory activities for the Phase 3 clinical trial of CX11;

● Advance the clinical development of other cardiovascular and metabolic projects, and

● Strengthen global operations and development capabilities to support the conduct of international multi-center clinical trials worldwide.
