Vivian Zhang Appointed President and Chairman of Fresenius Kabi China

According to industry media reports, on March 2, 2026, Vivian Zhang officially joined Fresenius Kabi China as President-Designate and Chairman. Starting from April 3, 2026, she will formally assume the roles of President and Chairman of Fresenius Kabi China, taking full charge of the company’s business development in China. Based in Beijing, Ms. Zhang will report to Mr. Ulf Jansson, Executive Vice President of Fresenius Kabi Asia Pacific.

Ms. Zhang Wei

Prior to joining Fresenius Kabi, Ms. Zhang Wei served at Merck from July 2022 to December 2025 as Managing Director of Merck Healthcare China, becoming the first local leader of the company’s healthcare business in the Chinese market. She reported directly to Zhou Hong, Head of Merck Healthcare China and International Markets. In December 2025, Merck China announced that Ms. Zhang had decided to step down to pursue external opportunities. Andre Musto, then Senior Vice President of Global Cardiovascular Metabolism and Endocrinology at Merck, was appointed as the new Managing Director of Merck Healthcare China, with the appointment taking effect on February 1, 2026.

Prior to that, Zhang Wei held various senior executive positions at multinational pharmaceutical companies such as Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals and Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
