On March 4, 2026, Shenzhen Leman Biotech Co., Ltd. (“Leman Biotech”) announced the completion of a new Series A financing round totaling nearly RMB 200 million. The round was co-led by Yuecai Zhongyin, an affiliate of Guangdong Financial Holdings, and XtalPi. It was followed on by Kuangshi Zhixing, Mony Valley, Tailong Investment, Zhongshan Venture Capital, and individual financial investors, with existing shareholder Fuhui Venture Capital continuing to increase its investment.

The funds raised willPrimarily used to advance the Phase I clinical study for the registration of ultra-low dose, metabolism-enhanced CAR-T cell therapies, accelerate the research, development, and validation of automated manufacturing processes, and initiate the clinical translation of metabolism-enhanced cell therapy drugs for solid tumors.Previously, Lemang Biotech had secured investments from institutions including XtalPi, Tiantu Capital, 5Y Capital, Fuhui Venture Capital, and Junyi Capital. This financing round underscores the sustained high recognition by investors of Lemang Biotech’s globally first-in-class immune-metabolic reprogramming technology and its clinical value, injecting strong momentum into the company’s accelerated high-quality development.

Leman Biotech, founded in 2021, is a clinical-stage innovative drug development company focused on immunometabolism. It was co-founded by Professor Li Tang’s team from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland and XtalPi. The company specializes in the research, development, manufacturing, and commercialization of novel immune cell therapy drugs. Under the leadership of co-founder Professor Li Tang, the core team has long been dedicated to advancing the frontiers of cellular immunotherapy, with research findings published in Nature (Nature), Nature Biotechnology (Nature Biotechnology), Nature Immunology (Nature Immunology) and The Lancet Haematology (The Lancet Haematology) and other top-tier international academic journals, and has filed multiple PCT and Chinese invention patents.

The Company Was Honored WithHighest Award in the National “Disruptive Technology Innovation” Competition, Silver Award in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Second Prize in the China Shenzhen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and dozens of other national, provincial, or municipal awards in the biopharmaceutical field; successfully selected for the Key Special Project on “Disruptive Technology Innovation” under the National Key R&D Program.Clinical advancements were selected for Late-Breaking Abstract oral presentations at the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT 2024) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR 2024), marking the only such recognition in China.

To address T cell exhaustion, a critical bottleneck limiting the efficacy and durability of cellular immunotherapy, Lemang Bio has developed the world’s first IL-10-mediated immune metabolic reprogramming technology platform (META 10), based on the founding team’s original discoveries in the field of immunometabolism. Leveraging this platform, the company has established a fully integrated, independently developed R&D and manufacturing platform for novel immune cell-based therapeutics.

Currently, the company has multiple pipelines entering investigator-initiated trials (IITs), with indications covering malignant hematologic tumors, solid tumors, and autoimmune diseases, continuously promoting the efficient clinical translation of cutting-edge research findings:

  • Hematologic Oncology Field:In indications such as relapsed/refractory lymphoma and leukemia, Laimang Biotech’s metabolism-enhanced CD19 CAR-T therapy achieved a 100% complete response (CR) rate in more than 20 patients, using an ultra-low dose as low as 1‰ of the conventional dosage. The study subjects included highly challenging cases, such as patients with central nervous system metastases and critically ill patients unable to move independently. Some of these findings were published in October 2025 in the prestigious international journal The Lancet Haematology.

  • Autoimmune Disease Sector:In patients with moderate-to-severe systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), metabolically enhanced CD19 CAR-T therapy also achieved ultra-low-dose administration (1/1000 of the conventional dose),and achieved a major breakthrough with “lymphodepletion-free” therapy—patients require no lymphodepleting preconditioning prior to infusion, nor do they need to interrupt their existing treatment; complete DORIS remission (complete response) is achieved after a single infusion, allowing for complete discontinuation of medication. This approach significantly enhances treatment safety and accessibility, paving the way for novel therapeutic avenues for patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

  • Solid Tumor Field:The company’s first solid tumor cell therapy pipeline—Metabolism-Enhanced Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte Injection (META 10-TILs)—has officially launched its Investigator-Initiated Trial (IIT) clinical study at the First Affiliated Hospital of the University of Science and Technology of China (Anhui Provincial Hospital) and the National Cancer Center/National Clinical Research Center for Cancer/Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. The study aims to evaluate the safety and preliminary efficacy of META 10-TILs in various advanced solid tumors, thereby accelerating the pace of clinical exploration. The company also has multiple solid tumor CAR-T pipelines entering the IIT clinical trial stage.

Furthermore, the company is concurrently advancing multiple Investigational New Drug (IND) applications for dual filing in both China and the United States. Several pipeline projects are also progressing efficiently, with metabolically enhanced in vivo CAR-T therapy entering a phase of rapid iteration. Meanwhile, the prototype of the company’s independently developed fully automated cell manufacturing system has been preliminarily completed, marking a critical step toward scalable, cost-effective, and highly consistent industrial production.

Leman Bio leveraged its aforementioned disruptive technologies and clinical translation achievements to compete in the National Finals of the Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurship Competition, co-hosted by multiple entities including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Central Office for Hong Kong and Macao Affairs, the State Council’s Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province. The company was awarded the Silver Prize, earning authoritative recognition for its innovative strength and development prospects.

Professor Tang Li, Co-founder and Chairman of Lemang Biostated: “Thanks to new and existing shareholders for their trust”With such support, the completion of this new round of financing will accelerate the implementation of our core technologies and the advancement of our pipeline. We will remain true to our original commitment to innovation, focusing on technological breakthroughs in immune cell therapy and addressing clinical needs. We are committed to accelerating the clinical translation and industrialization of innovative drugs, striving to provide more effective, safer, and more accessible treatment solutions for patients worldwide.”
