Puncture Robotic Secures RMB 100 Million Series B Funding to Build a New AI-Powered Consumer Healthcare Ecosystem

The funds will be used to implement strategic initiatives, including the iteration of Puncture Robotic’s core technologies, research and development of new product pipelines along with clinical registration, expansion of commercialization channels, and the establishment of a global commercial footprint.

The Puncture Robotic medical team has been deeply engaged in the robotics field for over a decade, possessing comprehensive capabilities driven by underlying technology platforms and scenario-based implementation. The founding team consists of engineers from prestigious institutions such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and is supported by a strategic advisory board of scientists and clinical experts led by Professor Wu Wenyu, Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Huashan Hospital. Since its inception, the team has focused on real-time image navigation for soft tissue intervention and percutaneous puncture, deeply cultivating four core business segments: vascular access, block anesthesia, medical aesthetics, and percutaneous interventions, thereby laying the technical foundation for AI-empowered consumer healthcare.

In 2022, Puncture Robotic keenly identified significant opportunities in the hair restoration industry. According to a Frost & Sullivan report, the market size of China’s hair medical sector is projected to reach RMB 138.1 billion by 2030. However, behind this booming market demand, pain points such as physician physical exhaustion from prolonged repetitive labor during follicle extraction, heavy reliance on individual physician experience, and the lack of industry standards have become increasingly prominent. Variations and inconsistencies in individual physicians’ manual operations also significantly impact patient experience and postoperative outcomes. The hair transplantation industry urgently requires solutions that offer smaller incisions, higher precision, and improved patient experience. Recognizing this unmet clinical need, Puncture Robotic has fully entered the hair restoration sector, leveraging AI intelligent algorithms and surgical robots as its core technologies, with the aim of becoming a builder of an ecosystem providing full-cycle solutions for hair medicine.

Leveraging its self-developed AI+Image+Robotics technology platform, Puncture Robotic is redefining industry standards for hair transplantation surgery. Its products boast a follicular unit extraction efficiency of 1,800 grafts per hour, an automated extraction accuracy rate of approximately 95%, a precision of 0.01 mm, and incisions that are 30% smaller than those associated with traditional procedures. The company has mastered core technologies such as medical image recognition and reconstruction, image fusion navigation, and force feedback control. It continues to advance the R&D of multiple product pipelines, including hair transplantation robots, addressing industry needs through highly focused technological innovation. In March 2025, HAIRO®, the first hair transplant robot approved in China and the first of its kind in Asia, was officially launched. It has covered more than ten core cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Chengdu, and Zhengzhou, with nearly 40 institutions participating in pilot trials and collaborations, and has completed nearly 1,000 HAIRO robot-assisted hair transplant surgeries. The second-generation integrated follicular unit extraction and implantation robot has also been successfully included in the National Special Approval Procedure for Innovative Medical Devices, becoming the only product in this field to receive such qualification, with its technological leadership nationally certified.
