The healthcare sector is accelerating its exploration of innovative AI applications. On April 25, at the 2026 China Hospital Information Network Conference (CHIMA 2026), Ant Health launched the “Integrated Smart Healthcare AI Solution” for hospitals and medical institutions across China. This solution integrates two core products: the “AI Medical Assistant” for patients and the “AI Physician Assistant” for doctors. It combines capabilities such as hospital agent construction and local large language model deployment to provide a systematic approach that supports the intelligent transformation of hospitals, enhances patient care experiences, and improves operational efficiency.

“Cloud Accompaniment” Throughout the Patient Journey Boosts Triage Desk Efficiency by 50%

Currently, hospitals commonly face challenges such as fragmented patient experiences, inefficient operations, and weak AI capabilities in the process of building smart medical services. To address these issues, the “AI Medical Assistant” within Ant Health’s “Integrated Smart Healthcare AI Solution” can create exclusive intelligent agents for hospitals, providing end-to-end accompaniment throughout the medical journey. It handles over 90% of basic inquiries, including hospital information and medical procedures, significantly reducing the workload at triage desks and nursing stations.

Specifically, hospitals can join the Ant Aifu App to create their own exclusive AI agents. Patients can register appointments, make payments, and check reports simply by speaking to Aifu, achieving an “ask-and-act” experience. Meanwhile, the product also provides a one-stop “cloud companion” service, covering pre-consultation inquiries, intelligent guidance during visits, and post-visit follow-ups.

Before the visit, patients can book appointments via the Afu App and receive advance reminders to avoid missing their scheduled time. During the visit, the system provides end-to-end guidance and alerts based on waiting queue progress and service notifications, eliminating concerns about locating departments or uncertainty regarding wait times. After the visit, the hospital continues to provide post-discharge services to patients who have left the facility.

It is reported that the “AI Medical Assistant” service provided by Ant Health has been deployed in more than 400 tiered hospitals across China, cumulatively serving over 50 million patient visits and improving triage desk efficiency at hospitals by up to 50%.

Taking Shanghai Changzheng Hospital as an example, the launch of the AI agent “Changzheng Assistant” has truly realized the shift from “patients seeking services” to “services reaching patients.” The average consultation time per patient has been reduced by 13 minutes, outpatient congestion has been significantly alleviated, and patient satisfaction has substantially improved. Relevant hospital officials stated that patients can now clearly track each step of their medical journey, reducing unnecessary movement within the hospital and greatly easing the pressure on on-site hospital management.

Enhancing the Quality and Efficiency of Healthcare Services: Deploying Localized Models for Hospital Safety

On the clinical side, time is consumed by routine documentation, literature searches for research, data analysis, and administrative tasks. Meanwhile, as requirements for medical data security and compliance continue to escalate, leveraging digital solutions to enhance quality and efficiency has become a core focus of hospital smartification initiatives.

Ant Health’s “AI Doctor Assistant” integrates four core functional modules—Literature Assistant, Data Analysis Assistant, Office Assistant, and Medical Record Assistant—covering comprehensive scenarios in clinical practice, scientific research, office work, and management. It helps healthcare professionals and operational staff break free from repetitive, mundane tasks, allowing them to devote more energy to the core responsibilities of clinical diagnosis and treatment.

“AI Doctor Assistant” offers hospitals two deployment models: cloud-based SaaS and on-premises deployment. The on-premises model ensures that core medical data remains within the hospital, with all computation and processing performed internally, thereby fully meeting data security and compliance requirements and providing hospitals with peace of mind.

As an internet platform that has been deeply rooted in the healthcare sector for over a decade, Ant Health’s AI-powered health application, the Ant Afu App, has amassed more than 100 million users. It provides diverse health services, including health consultations, medical report interpretation, online consultations, and medical insurance payments, handling over ten million user health inquiries daily, making it the world’s largest health AI app.

A representative from Ant Health stated that the intelligent upgrading of healthcare is an inevitable trend in industry development. In the future, Ant Health will continue to open up and iterate its hospital-side solutions, launching capabilities such as intelligent pre-consultation and intelligent scheduling. By working with partners, Ant Health aims to reduce burdens and enhance efficiency for hospitals and medical institutions across China, thereby better serving both patients and physicians.
