June 28,Luye Pharma Group Announces Formal Completion of Acquisition of AstraZeneca’s Central Nervous System Products, Seroquel (Quetiapine Fumarate Tablets) and Seroquel XR (Quetiapine Fumarate Extended-Release Tablets), Across 51 Countries and Regions WorldwideThese 51 countries and regions include China, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Thailand, Argentina, Malaysia, and other markets in Asia, Latin America, Africa, Oceania, and Eastern Europe.

Luye Pharma has successfully completed all business handovers with AstraZeneca and signed the final agreement on June 28 regarding the supply of the acquired products and various matters during the transition period.

The assets covered in this acquisition include the sales business and related rights for the Seroquel product series in the aforementioned 51 countries and regions, encompassing drug registration certificates, patents, manufacturing technologies, commercial data, and sales networks. Furthermore, AstraZeneca has agreed to grant Luye Pharma an exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, and sublicensable license to use the trademarks, along with other corresponding authorizations, to enable Luye Pharma to develop and market the product series in these 51 countries and regions.

Seroquel and Seroquel XR are atypical antipsychotics with antidepressant properties, primarily used for the treatment of schizophrenia and mania.In addition, Seroquel XR has been approved in certain regions for the treatment of depression and generalized anxiety disorder. Due to its rapid onset of action, favorable tolerability, and good patient compliance, it is widely recognized by physicians and patients alike. It is currently marketed in over 80 countries worldwide, with more than 10 million prescriptions issued.

The successful acquisition of the Seroquel product series serves as another strong testament to Luye Pharma’s international operational capabilities. The central nervous system is one of the four core therapeutic areas focused on by Luye Pharma.Currently, the Company has multiple investigational drugs in the field of central nervous system (CNS) therapeutics under simultaneous development in China and overseas markets. These include Risperidone Sustained-Release Microspheres for Injection (LY03004), indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, which is about to enter the New Drug Application (NDA) stage in both China and the United States; Rotigotine Sustained-Release Microspheres (LY03003) for Parkinson’s disease, which has entered Phase III clinical trials; and Desvenlafaxine Extended-Release Tablets (LY03005) for depression, which has also entered Phase III clinical trials. In addition, Rivastigmine Multi-Day Transdermal Patch for the treatment of mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease has entered pivotal clinical stages, and other new drug projects such as the analgesic LY03012 are progressing smoothly.
