Provider of Personalized High-End Medical and Health Services

Financial Advisory Service Agency
Shanghai, January 30 (China News Service) – As the Spring Festival approaches, Yosemite Clinic has officially announced the completion of its Series B financing round, amounting to hundreds of millions of yuan. The investment was jointly led by Vision Capital and Sherpa Healthcare Partners, with HAOYUE CAPITAL serving as the exclusive financial advisor for this round. With this infusion of capital, Yosemite Clinic will be better positioned to pursue expansion and replication strategies, initially establishing Shanghai as a model city to build a multi-site chain service network, aiming to become an international boutique chain of ambulatory surgery centers.
Founded in Pudong, Shanghai, Yosemite Clinic has consistently leveraged its distinctive advantage of being led by medical professionals as a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery institution. As the first independently operated ambulatory surgery center in China and the first boutique healthcare provider to formally establish a medical consortium partnership with a large public tertiary hospital, Yosemite Clinic has pioneered innovative models in the industry. From introducing the U.S.-based clinic system to deliver accessible healthcare services, to forging a multi-specialty strategic partnership with Medtronic in the field of minimally invasive surgical treatment, Yosemite Clinic has effectively integrated extensive industry resources along its path of premium healthcare delivery, fostering synergy and achieving win-win outcomes. The Series B financing secured by Yosemite Clinic will be utilized to build a general hospital in the core Jing’an district of Puxi, Shanghai. Furthermore, by supporting this hub with satellite clinics offering convenient care, the company aims to create a densely networked, city-wide chain of medical facilities in Shanghai. This expansion will enable Yosemite Clinic to provide patients with more accessible and professional services, thereby playing an active role in Shanghai’s development into a world-class medical hub.
In the "Special Action Plan for Building an Asian Medical Center" recently released by the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, measures to "accelerate the refined and humanistic development of medical services in Shanghai" were explicitly proposed. The plan particularly encourages the vigorous promotion of tiered diagnosis and treatment and the adoption of a one-stop, multidisciplinary care model. This provides boutique medical institutions, represented by Yosemite Clinic, with valuable opportunities for constructive interaction and collaboration with large public hospitals. On one hand, for patients with common, simple, or frequently occurring conditions, Yosemite Clinic offers convenient primary care and day-case minimally invasive surgical services, while tertiary Grade A hospitals handle complex and challenging surgeries, creating an effective complementary relationship between the two. On the other hand, for cases requiring multidisciplinary coordination, Yosemite Clinic can arrange for family physicians and attending specialists to collaborate with industry experts, providing patients with a seamless one-stop service experience that spans outpatient and emergency visits, diagnostics, preoperative assessment, surgery and hospitalization, and postoperative rehabilitation. For instance, the recently launched Sports Rehabilitation Center at Yosemite Clinic provides an integrated diagnostic and therapeutic approach encompassing pain management, orthopedics, sports medicine, and rehabilitation. By initiating rehabilitation before surgery, this model not only reflects Yosemite Clinic’s patient-centric philosophy but also demonstrates meticulous attention to detail across all perioperative stages, thereby offering a more humanized healthcare experience than that typically available in public tertiary Grade A hospitals.
Notably, in the 2018 quality control inspection in Pudong, Shanghai, Yosemite Clinic was recognized as an “Advanced Unit in Medical Quality Management” and ranked first among private healthcare providers in quality control assessments. This achievement is closely attributed to Dr. Song Keying, the founder and surgeon, whose professional management philosophy emphasizes rigorous medical quality control. It has also provided a high-standard framework for clinical practice and operational management, supporting Yosemite Clinic’s chain expansion. The upcoming opening of the new Jing’an branch in Puxi will elevate the depth and breadth of medical professionalism to a higher level. In addition to comprehensive departmental setups and advanced diagnostic equipment such as MRI scanners, the facility will prominently feature 24-hour emergency services. By offering emergency care from a boutique medical institution in a core urban area, this initiative will greatly provide Shanghai residents with seamless, convenient, and accessible emergency medical options. Since its establishment, Yosemite Clinic has assembled a clinical expert team integrating foreign and local physicians, effectively combining international advanced diagnostic and treatment concepts and communication practices with refined clinical expertise, thereby delivering acceptable medical solutions to patients from diverse countries and regions.
Dr. Song Keying, founder of Yosemite Clinic and a surgeon, stated, “When we established Yosemite Clinic more than two years ago, we adhered to the core values of ‘patient-centered care and physician-led practice,’ prioritizing the establishment of a robust medical quality and safety system, while placing great emphasis on our reputation among both patients and physicians. Since our opening, with the continuous strengthening of our medical, nursing, and anesthesia teams, as well as the ongoing improvement of our operational systems, it is now the right time to expand and deepen our medical service network. This will enable us to better collaborate with our partner experts and medical institutions, thereby providing patients with more professional and convenient services. The participation of Vision Capital, a professional investment firm with Alibaba heritage, and Sherpa Healthcare Partners, a specialized healthcare investment institution, has given us greater confidence in becoming a leader in the field of ambulatory surgery.”
Tian Min, Partner at Vision Capital, stated, “We continuously monitor the trends and opportunities arising from consumption upgrades in the healthcare sector. Through rigorous due diligence and in-depth discussions with Dr. Song’s team, we believe that ambulatory surgery is a high-potential niche within the private healthcare landscape. As a pioneer, Yosemite Clinic has been consistently building competitive barriers and demonstrating its professional advantages. We will assist the company in integrating more industrial resources across the health sector to accelerate its rapid growth.”
Ouyang Xiangyu, Founding Partner of Sherpa Healthcare Partners, stated, “As an investor in Yosemite Clinic’s Series A financing round and a former board member, we have long been optimistic about the development of innovative healthcare service models in China and remain confident in Dr. Song and his team. We believe that with the continued support from Sherpa Healthcare Partners and an growing number of strategic investors and partners bringing valuable resources, Yosemite Clinic will further solidify its position as the leading provider of premium ambulatory surgery services in China.” (End)
