# HUAPONT LIFE SCIENCES and Shenzhen Pregene Biopharma to Establish Joint Venture for Drug R&DMarch 19 (Yiou Health) – HUAPONT LIFE SCIENCES announced that it has signed an agreement with Shenzhen Pregene Biopharma Co., Ltd. (“Pregene Biopharma”) to jointly establish Shenzhen Huapu Pharmaceutical R&D Co., Ltd. (“Huapu Company”). Under the agreement, HUAPONT LIFE SCIENCES will contribute RMB 16.5 million in registered capital, holding a 55% equity stake, while Pregene Biopharma will contribute RMB 13.5 million, holding a 45% equity stake.

It is reported that Huapont, as a high-tech biotechnology R&D platform, will initially conduct research on immunological disease projects in dermatology, respiratory medicine, ophthalmology, and anti-infection, and expand to other areas with broad clinical medical demands at the appropriate time.Innovative DrugsProjects. Currently, Huapu Company’s candidate projects for early-stage target/product selection include: psoriasis (IL-17/IL-23), ankylosing spondylitis (IL-17), rheumatoid arthritis (IL-17/TNF-α/IL-6), allergic asthma (IgE/IgE antagonist) (IL-5), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) (IL-6), adult acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (aTTP), and atopic dermatitis.
As disclosed in the announcement,Pregene, the partner in this agreement, was established in 2015 and its main business isCAR-T CellsDrug and Nanobody Drug Development.In the development of CAR-T cell therapies, candidates indicated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia and multiple myeloma have successively entered the Investigational New Drug (IND) application phase. In the realm of nanobody therapeutics, Pregene has established a comprehensive nanobody drug discovery platform and jointly founded a Nanobody Therapeutics Laboratory with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Its EGFR-targeted nanobody CAR-T therapy for solid tumors is currently undergoing non-registration clinical trials in China. Furthermore, its VEGF-targeted nanobody is being co-developed as a radiopharmaceutical in collaboration with the U.S.-based BAMF Health VEGF Limited Liability Company.

Furthermore, HUAPONT LIFE SCIENCES will leverage Pregene’s advantages in nanobody technology to strategically position promising products in the field of novel biologics ahead of time, thereby capturing market share.
