March 25 (Yiou Health) – Global healthcare giant Abbott has launched a digital platform called “a:care,” enabling consumers and physicians to interact on health-related issues, schedule appointments, and connect with e-pharmacies in India for medical purchases. Notably, the Abbott app incorporates gamified elements—such as quizzes, surveys, and identification tools—to help patients, doctors, and pharmacists stay engaged throughout the healthcare journey. Currently, the platform focuses on the management of diabetes, thyroid disorders, and osteoarthritis. As users progress in their gamified learning, they earn rewards and points that can be redeemed for medications and other products.
