WuXi NextCODE Announces Investment in National Gene Testing Application Demonstration Center in Wenjiang District, Chengdu

SHANGHAI, May 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- WuXi NextCODE, a global leader in precision medicine and an integrated platform for genomic R&D applications and big data enablement, announced on May 29, 2018, that it would invest in the WuXi AppTec Life Health Industrial Park in Chengdu under the WuXi AppTec Group, launchingMingma Biotechnology National Demonstration Center for Genetic Testing ApplicationsProject. This project aims to establish a nationally accredited medical laboratory; create an integrated, open-platform for precision medicine genetic testing; and build the Mingma Cloud Platform for the storage, analysis, interaction, and application of health big data, thereby establishing a genetic big data center in Southwest China.

Wang Daoming, Secretary of the Wenjiang District Committee of the Communist Party of China, Ma Liehong, District Mayor, and other leaders; Dr. Li Ge, Chairman of WuXi NextCODE; and Yuan Jianzhong, Senior Vice President and General Manager of China Region at WuXi NextCODE, along with other company executives, attended the signing ceremony. Mr. Yuan Jianzhong, on behalf of WuXi NextCODE, signed a strategic investment agreement with the People's Government of Wenjiang District, Chengdu City.

WuXi Nextcode will invest in building the National Gene Testing Application Demonstration Center of Nextcode Biotechnology, and cooperate with the Wenjiang District Government to carry out people-benefiting collaborative businesses in precision medicine, gene testing, companion diagnostics, genomic research, and health big data. This will be the first national gene testing application demonstration center and big data center invested and constructed by WuXi Nextcode in Southwest China.
