Xinyanguang and Tencent Healthcare Enter Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement

Shanghai Securities News China Securities Network (Reporter Sheng Bo): New Eyes, a company listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ), announced in a public filing on the 20th that it had entered into a "Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement" with Tencent Healthcare (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. on May 16, 2019.

The announcement stated that, through consultation, the two parties have pooled their respective strengths to achieve the following cooperation objectives: Both parties will strive to create favorable conditions and jointly promote the development of products such as Tencent Smart Hospital, Miying Artificial Intelligence, Tencent Cloud, WeChat Pay, WeChat traffic resources, Electronic Health Cards, Electronic Social Security Cards, and Electronic Citizen Cards within the healthcare and health industry. In light of industry-specific characteristics, they will collaboratively develop innovative products and jointly advance pilot projects for triage, clinical decision support, Miying, and Smart Hospital solutions in regions where conditions permit. Leveraging their respective brands and resources, both parties will jointly promote related innovations and applications, create new commercial value, and rapidly expand adoption among government agencies and hospitals.

The announcement stated that the company’s cooperation with Tencent Healthcare (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. includes the following: 1. Jointly developing an integrated solution for an AI-powered ophthalmic health big data cloud platform, and promoting AI-assisted diagnostic services for ophthalmic diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, fundus diseases, glaucoma, and cataracts; 2. Jointly developing value-added healthcare products based on Miying AI and WeChat Smart Hospital, building a support platform to enable billable AI services for hospitals and primary care institutions; 3. Advancing collaboration in the fields of healthcare big data and artificial intelligence, and jointly exploring the commercial implementation of data products, intelligent terminals, and AI-based screening solutions.

This Strategic Framework Agreement serves solely as a directional guide for the subsequent cooperation between the Parties. The Parties shall carry out various tasks in accordance with the aforementioned scope of cooperation, accelerate the implementation of the project, and, at an appropriate time when conditions are mature and depending on the specific circumstances of the project, enter into definitive agreements either directly or through their respective affiliates. The arrangement of subsequent cooperative projects, as well as the rights and obligations of the Parties, shall be governed by the terms stipulated in such definitive agreements.
