Next in LinePrior to joining BD, Puneet Sarin boasted an impressive resume. A leader in the global life sciences and clinical in vitro diagnostics industry with over 20 years of experience, he spent nearly six years at Danaher Corporation, where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Chemistry and Immunoassay business unit at Beckman Coulter, a Danaher operating company, overseeing chemistry and immunoassay as well as pathology imaging operations.
Upon further research, A-Chen Jiang discovered that before joining Danaher, Puneet Sarin had also worked at General Electric (GE) in the United States for a period, primarily serving as a leader and head of the Industrial Energy and Healthcare divisions.

BD Group’s total revenue for the 2018 fiscal year was $15.983 billion, representing a 32.2% increase.
BD’s Medical segment reported full-year 2018 revenue of $8.616 billion, a 16.1% increase year over year. Fourth-quarter global revenue amounted to $2.346 billion, representing a 20.8% increase compared to the same period last year.
BD Life Sciences reported full-year 2018 revenue of $4.33 billion, representing an increase from the same period last year8.6%. Global revenue in the fourth quarter was $1.108 billion, an increase of 5.5% compared to the same period last year.
BD Interventional Segment Revenue: Full-year 2018 revenue amounted to $3.037 billion, representing a year-over-year increase of 5.2%. Global revenue in the fourth quarter was $94.8 million, up 6.0% year over year.
Based on the data above, it is evident that BD’s Medical segment generated the highest revenue and achieved the fastest growth, while BD Life Sciences also demonstrated solid performance. However, in the global in vitro diagnostics market, BD Life Sciences lags slightly behind competitors such as Roche Diagnostics and Abbott.
