Top 20 Best-Selling Drugs by Sales Value Released: Multiple Blockbusters from Multinational Pharma Companies Listed

Yiyao.com, July 3 — The top 20 drugs by sales volume and value have been released.

 

 

Recently, the Fujian Provincial Drug and Medical Device Joint Price-Limited Sunshine Procurement Network announced the top 20 drugs by sales amount in the joint price-limited sunshine procurement for May 2019.

 

As shown in the table, the listed pharmaceutical companies are predominantly foreign enterprises, namely multinational pharmaceutical corporations such as Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Bayer, Roche, and Sanofi.

 

Among them, Pfizer had three drugs on the list: Cefoperazone Sodium and Sulbactam Sodium for Injection, Atorvastatin Calcium Tablets, and Amlodipine Besylate Tablets.

 

AstraZeneca had two products on the list: Budesonide Suspension for Inhalation and Metoprolol Succinate Sustained-release Tablets.

 

Bayer had two products on the list: Nifedipine Controlled-Release Tablets and Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride and Sodium Chloride Injection.

 

Roche had two products on the list: Trastuzumab for Injection and Bevacizumab Injection.

 

Sanofi had two products on the list: insulin glargine injection and clopidogrel bisulfate tablets.

 

 

In addition to foreign pharmaceutical companies, several domestic pharmaceutical companies are also included among the top 20 drugs by sales revenue, namely Southwest Pharmaceutical, Yichang HEC Changjiang Pharmaceutical, CSPC NBP Pharmaceutical, North China Pharmaceutical Hebei Huimin Pharmaceutical, Sichuan Luye Pharmaceutical, and Beijing Novartis.

 

Based on the monthly “Top 20 Drugs by Sales Revenue in the Joint Price-Capped Sunshine Procurement Program” released by Fujian Province, the list of drugs featured each month shows little variation.Enterprisealso dominated by foreign pharmaceutical companies.

 

Recently, the Fujian Provincial Medical Security Bureau issued the "Notice of the Fujian Provincial Medical Security Bureau on Strengthening Key Monitoring of Medical InsurancePharmaceuticalsNotice on Administration,” which defined the scope of key drug supervision, with the top 20 drugs by average monthly shipment value all included in the key monitoring list.

 

According to the notice, the Fujian Provincial Drug Procurement Center, in conjunction with the Provincial Medical Insurance Center, conducted a review of the provincial-levelProcurementBased on a comprehensive analysis of platform transaction data, drug mechanisms of action and clinical applications, routine performance monitoring, health insurance audit and supervision, and reports and complaints, key assessments are conducted on drugs belonging to the categories of antimicrobials, traditional Chinese medicine injections, adjuvant drugs, nutritional drugs, drugs with rapidly increasing usage without specific justification, as well as other high-priced and high-volume drugs. Proposals for inclusion in the Key Monitoring Drug List are then submitted to the Provincial Healthcare Security Administration for review and determination.
