On July 22, 2019, VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) learned from foreign media reports that Indian pharmaceutical company Eurolife Healthcare (Eurolife) announced the acquisition of an intravenous drug manufacturing plant owned by Israel’s Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Teva). No financial terms of the acquisition were disclosed.
It is reported that the acquired factory is located in Hungary, Europe, and currently has a monthly production capacity of 2.1 million bags of intravenous infusion fluids. Sandeep Toshniwal, CEO of Eurolife, stated, “Over the next three years, Eurolife will invest €50 million to expand this facility.” Following the acquisition, Eurolife will expand its exports of intravenous medications to markets in Europe and the United States.

As India’s largest producer of intravenous drugs, Eurolife operates multiple pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities across various regions of India, supplying medications to 12,000 hospitals and nursing homes. In 2016, Eurolife acquired the flexible fluid systems (FFS) infusion therapy business from Baxter India, a subsidiary of the US biotechnology company Baxter International, thereby enhancing its competitiveness in the global pharmaceutical market.
Eurolife’s pharmaceutical products have been certified under the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. The company is currently expanding its manufacturing facilities to grow its presence in the Indian market and to export medicines to multiple countries, including Ukraine, Kenya, the Philippines, Nepal, and Kazakhstan.
