Following comparative analysis, Roche Diagnostics firmly holds the first position; Abbott ranks second; Danaher third; and Siemens Healthineers fourth!
Overall: Roche Diagnostics ranked first with revenue of CHF 30,469 million; Abbott followed in second place with USD 15,514 million; Danaher ranked third with USD 10,036.5 million; Siemens disclosed only its Q2 financial results, ranking fourth with 7,426!
However, in terms of growth momentum, Roche Diagnostics ranks first, Siemens second, Danaher third, and Abbott fourth!

Roche Diagnostics
According to the financial report, in the first half of 2019, Roche Diagnostics' total revenue was CHF 30,469 million, a year-on-year increase of 6%. The revenue from the diagnostics business was CHF 6,358 million, representing a 2% growth compared to the same period last year.
From the perspective of Roche Diagnostics' specialized segments:
Centralised and Point of Care Solutions: The core business achieved significant growth, with revenue reaching CHF 3.762 billion, accounting for 60% of the total.Year-on-year growth of 3%;According to Roche Diagnostics, the immunodiagnosis business is the primary contributor; growth is concentrated in China, the United States, and South Korea.
Next is the Molecular Diagnostics business, with total revenue of CHF 1.029 billion in the first half of 2019, a year-on-year increase of 6%;
Specifically, this includes a 5% growth in the core molecular diagnostics business and a 5% growth in the sequencing business. Meanwhile,Molecular diagnostics was also a key focus area for Roche Diagnostics in the first half of 2019, with growth driven by an expanded share in blood screening demand. The specific contributors to this growth were primarily concentrated in Middle Eastern countries, China, and the United States.
From an organizational diagnosis perspective, total revenue amounted to CHF 526 million, marking the only negative growth trend across all segments, with a year-on-year decline of 3%. This decrease was attributable to a 3% drop in sales caused by delays in tool shipments.

Abbott
Abbott's total revenue in the first half of 2019 was $15,514 million, a year-on-year increase of 2%; revenue from the diagnostics business was $3,742 million, a year-on-year increase of 1%;
According to the financial report disclosed by Abbott, the overall growth of the diagnostics business was primarily driven by the increase in traditional diagnostics. In the first half of the year, total revenue from traditional diagnostics amounted to USD 2.23 billion, with the main growth driver being the continued strong adoption of innovative and highly differentiated diagnostic instruments in the Alinity series.
Notably, Abbott has shown a declining trend in the molecular diagnostics sector. In the first half of 2019, total revenue from molecular diagnostics was $2.23 billion, accounting for 6% of the total. This decline was due to changes in procurement models in certain African countries.
As is well known, rapid diagnostic testing is one of Abbott’s core businesses, particularly in the field of HIV, where it maintains a globally leading position. In the rapid diagnostics segment, Abbott’s total revenue amounted to $10.21 billion, accounting for 27% of its total revenue, representing a year-over-year decrease of 2.2%.

Danaher
In the first half of 2019, Danaher's total revenue amounted to USD 10,036.5 million, representing a 4% year-on-year increase; revenue from its diagnostics business totaled USD 3.155 billion, accounting for 31% of the total.
Among these, the primary drivers of growth in the clinical laboratory business and nursing diagnostics business are the China and North America markets,Meanwhile, the primary focus of the molecular diagnostics business is in North America.

Siemens
To date, Siemens has only released its second-quarter financial report, without directly publishing the semi-annual report. Based on detailed calculations, Siemens’ total revenue amounted to USD 7,426 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 6%. (Source: MedTrend)
Siemens’ Diagnostics segment reported total revenue of $222 million, accounting for 29% of total revenue, representing a 4% year-over-year increase. Growth in the EMEA and Americas regions was partially offset by the commercialization costs of the Atellica™ Solution for immunology and clinical chemistry, as well as foreign exchange impacts.
