Chip Technology News (by Li Taihong): Another Taiwanese tech firm enters the healthcare industry, as Acer joins forces with Novartis Taiwan to establish a cross-industry strategic alliance in smart healthcare, with a memorandum of cooperation expected to be signed next week.

Acer stated that it will leverage artificial intelligence (AI) technology in areas such as clinical trial design, verification and registration, disease detection, and integrated patient care. Additionally, it will utilize its global operational platform to promote Taiwanese smart healthcare products to the international market.

Recently, major Taiwanese technology companies have made significant moves in the healthcare sector. Prior to Acer, Wistron Medical, a subsidiary of the Wistron Group, partnered with Xiyue International to develop an intelligent neonatal care solution, which has been implemented at Xiyue Postpartum Care Center. By leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technology, this initiative aims to enhance the safety and convenience of neonatal care.

Wistron Medics has actively invested in the field of smart care solutions in recent years, leveraging big data analytics and predictive modeling along with intelligent IoT technologies to develop smart neonatal care solutions.

Additionally, Compal Group’s subsidiary, Ruibao Biomedical, has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital (KMUH), joining forces to establish a GTP-compliant laboratory and provide various cell therapy services in accordance with the Special Management Measures, thereby co-creating Southern Taiwan’s first cell therapy center.

In recent years, Compal Group has been gradually building its footprint in smart healthcare and health services. Leveraging its comprehensive and robust foundation in ICT technology, the company is actively expanding into intelligent healthcare, medical devices and equipment, telemedicine services, structured electronic medical records, and big data platforms for precision medicine. Through the development of Ruibao Biomedical, Compal has successfully entered the biomedical field, conducting research on human cancer immunotherapy, stem cells, and regenerative medicine. The group aims to integrate intelligent healthcare with cutting-edge biomedical technologies to construct a more complete healthcare supply chain.
