Fujian Medical and Health Industry Matchmaking Event Held in Shanghai Generates Multiple Collaboration Leads

On December 5, the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce held the “Fujian Medical and Health Industry Matchmaking Conference” in Shanghai. More than 40 participants attended the event for business matchmaking, including representatives from the Provincial Department of Commerce and the Healthcare Security Administration, commerce departments of relevant prefecture-level cities in Fujian, administrative committees of industrial parks, key medical industry parks in the province such as Fuzhou Biomedical Industrial Park, Xiamen Bio-Medicine Port, and Putian Mazu International Health City, as well as 15 multinational healthcare companies including Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson Medical.

During the promotion session, the biomedical parks in Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Putian successively presented their investment environments and preferential policies. Eight multinational medical corporations, including Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, separately outlined their needs for investment and trade cooperation. The Fujian Provincial Healthcare Security Administration provided on-site responses to concerns raised by multinational healthcare enterprises. In the interactive exchange session, the participating parks and multinational corporations engaged in discussions on potential investment and trade cooperation projects.

During the matchmaking session, a number of potential collaborative projects were identified. Projects including collaboration on flow cytometry technology with BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), generic drug production with Pfizer, Inc., and Terumo’s proposed expansion of investment in China were discussed with relevant industrial parks.

Participating industrial parks reported that targeted investment promotion focused on specific industries has yielded significant results. Multinational corporations expressed appreciation for the proactive outreach and matchmaking initiatives led by the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce, stating that they will prioritize Fujian’s healthcare industry in their future development strategies, seek cooperation opportunities, and strive to achieve tangible collaborative outcomes.
