Lyon, France, January 7, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- genOway, a publicly listed company and leader in the development of genetically engineered research models, today announced a significant milestone: the expansion of its strategic alliance with Merck, a leading science and technology company and pioneer in genome editing.

Today, the two companies are further strengthening their collaboration by entering into an additional licensing agreement that grants genOway non-exclusive rights to commercialize the development and use of all other animal cell models for its customers’ internal research and commercial development.

We are pleased to expand our partnership with Merck. Merck’s intellectual property portfolio is continuously growing and expanding. Merck is now recognized as a foundation CRISPR Leading Provider of Intellectual Property.Alexandre Fraichard, Founder and Chief Operating Officer of genOway, stated, “This additional license will allow genOway Better serve our customers by providing comprehensive, multifunctional solutions and essential intellectual property to help accelerate their research.

Merck and genOway have jointly identified research areas in which they can combine their respective technologies and expertise to develop and validate new CRISPR/Cas9-related products and solutions.
