▌ Changes in Leadership of the Respiratory Business Unit Over the Past Year

Since Wang Yizhe, the former head of GSK China’s respiratory business, left to join Eli Lilly in April 2018, GSK China’s respiratory business unit has undergone multiple personnel and organizational restructuring efforts.

First, in April last year, Gao Song, then head of the Respiratory Business Unit, stepped down. The respiratory portfolio was split into new and legacy products, with Chen Siyuan and Zhu Ning appointed to lead the Innovative Products Business Unit (+CNS, HIV) and the Established Products Business Unit (+Hepatitis), respectively.

A month later, Zhu Ning departed again to join Eli Lilly China’s Biopharmaceutical Products Division as Vice President of the Specialty Care Products Division. Meanwhile, GSK’s Classic Products Business Unit was reassigned to Chen Siyuan and merged into the Respiratory and HIV Business Unit.

On November 18 last year, GlaxoSmithKline China announced that Chen Siyuan, Vice President of GSK China and head of the Respiratory and HIV Business Unit, had decided to resign, with his last working day being November 30.

Chen Siyuan later joined Bristol-Myers Squibb as General Manager for China.

As the new head of the Respiratory Business Unit has not yet been appointed, sales operations for GSK China’s respiratory business have been temporarily overseen by Xin Chenyun, current head of the Specialty Care and CNS Business Units, for nearly two months to date.
