When one area faces disaster, support comes from all directions. The COVID-19 pandemic has not only united the entire nation but also remained a constant concern for all Roche employees. From February 24 to 26, 2020, under the coordination of the Medical Treatment Group of the State Council’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism for the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Epidemic, Roche Pharmaceuticals China urgently donated tocilizumab injection with a total value of approximately RMB 14 million through the China Primary Health Care Foundation in two batches, to support medical institutions in China and Wuhan.
Roche has always put patients first, racing against time to bring hope for life to patients. After the outbreak of the epidemic, Roche took immediate action to support the government and medical and health institutions at all levels in jointly fighting against the novel coronavirus. Roche Pharmaceuticals, together with Roche Diagnostics, made an initial emergency donation through the China Population Welfare Foundation, with a total value of over 4.3 million yuan in cash and supplies. Subsequently, Roche Pharmaceuticals mobilized its global supply chain resources to procure and allocate urgent medical protective materials as much as possible, and additionally donated medical supplies worth nearly 6 million yuan. All these additional supplies are now being delivered successively to hospitals on the front lines of the anti-epidemic effort across China, as well as to multiple charitable organizations.
To date, Roche has donated cash, medicines, and supplies totaling more than RMB 24 million.
