Guangzhou First Affiliated Hospital Leads Two New Gilead-Initiated Phase III Clinical Trials of Remdesivir for COVID-19, Now Registered with China's Genetic Resources Authority

Public Notice on the Filing Status of International Cooperative Clinical Trials Involving Human Genetic Resources (March 17, 2020 to March 30, 2020), released on April 8, indicated that Gilead Sciences had completed the filing for two Phase III clinical trials evaluating remdesivir for the treatment of patients with COVID-19. Both studies were sponsored by Gilead Sciences, with The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University serving as the lead investigational site and Beijing Pharmasutic Consulting Co., Ltd. acting as the contract research organization (CRO).

In addition, two clinical trials of remdesivir for the treatment of COVID-19, led by China-Japan Friendship Hospital and launched in China in early February, are expected to release their results in late April.
