Small Molecule Therapy Product Developer
Oncology Drug Research, Development, and Manufacturing
Today, Vividion Therapeutics announced that it has entered into an exclusive global license agreement with Roche to leverage its proteomics screening platform and proprietary small-molecule library for the development of novel small-molecule drugs targeting E3 ligases, as well as candidate drugs targeting therapeutic targets in oncology and immunology.
E3 ligases are a class of important proteins responsible for directing target proteins to the proteasome for degradation. Innovative small molecules targeting E3 ligases hold the potential to become differentiated protein degradation therapies, unlocking a broad range of therapeutic applications.
Under the terms of the agreement, Vividion will be responsible for early-stage drug discovery and preclinical development of selected programs. It will receive an upfront payment of $135 million and will be eligible for potential milestone payments totaling billions of dollars, as well as tiered royalties on future sales of drugs developed through this collaboration. Roche will hold exclusive licenses to develop the compounds at various stages of development.
“We are pleased to partner with Roche, marking Vividion Therapeutics’ second major collaboration. We are committed to developing small-molecule drugs that target previously undruggable therapeutic targets,” said Dr. Diego Miralles, Chief Executive Officer of Vividion Therapeutics. “This collaboration with Roche will further strengthen our R&D pipeline, leveraging diverse E3 ligases to deliver cutting-edge therapies to patients in need.”
“Partnerships are the cornerstone of Roche’s strategy to translate novel ideas into drug research,” said Dr. James Sabry, Global Head at Roche. “We are highly interested in Vividion’s small-molecule discovery approach and look forward to collaborating with their team to identify potential new medicines for patients with cancer and immune diseases.”
