Servier Completes Acquisition of Symphogen to Strengthen Antibody Capabilities in Oncology and Beyond

PARIS, June 4, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Servier, an independent international pharmaceutical company, announced that it has completed the acquisition of Symphogen A/S. In various therapeutic areas, including oncology, Symphogen will serve as Servier's Center of Excellence for antibodies. As a subsidiary of the Servier Group, Symphogen will maintain operational autonomy, continue to retain its experienced employees, and keep its headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark.

As part of this acquisition, Christophe Thurieau, Executive Director of the Servier Research Institute, has been appointed as CEO of Symphogen, while Symphogen’s former Chief Operating Officer, Karin Garre, has been appointed as General Manager of Symphogen. Martin Olin, Symphogen’s former CEO, will serve as an external advisor to support this transition.
