Eisai China Signs Over RMB 200 Million Procurement Intent Agreement at CIIE for Shanghai Drug Volume-Based Procurement

Shanghai, November 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 8, the Shanghai Municipal Healthcare Security Administration held its first-ever on-site signing ceremony for procurement intentions of volume-based procurement-winning drugs and medical consumables at the China International Import Expo. Ms. Feng Yanhui, Global Senior Vice President of Eisai and President of Eisai China, attended the event and signed agreements on behalf of the company with the Shanghai Medical Centralized Bidding and Procurement Affairs Management Office and Shanghai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. The total value of the procurement intentions exceeded RMB 200 million.

According to reports, the products covered by this procurement intention mainly include selected products from certain foreign-invested enterprises in the third batch of national centralized drug procurement and the pilot program for centralized procurement of high-value medical consumables in this municipality, as well as drugs supplied by these enterprises through the Shanghai Sunshine Drug Procurement Platform. The total intended procurement amount is approximately RMB 841 million, of which RMB 794 million is for drugs and RMB 46.6 million is for high-value medical consumables.
